Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, has been suspended from Twitter yet again, this time for posting an image of the Nazi swastika inside the Star of David. West has been a controversy magnet for the better part of his career, and this is not the first time that he finds himself in hot water over antisemitic posts. In October, his account was suspended for an antisemitic tweet before it was reinstated a couple of weeks later. The reinstatement happened under the old Twitter management, days before Musk finalized his $44 billion deal to buy the company. The latest development comes amidst a tumultuous few weeks for Twitter that has reduced the company’s workforce by more than half. While most were laid off as a cost-cutting measure, hundreds resigned following Musk's 'extremely hardcore' ultimatum to employees. Musk also fired many workers who criticized him or questioned his management tactics. Twitter has also been embroiled in controversies surrounding the blue checkmark that used to be a surefire way to identify verified accounts but became inconsequential after Musk put it up for sale for $8 per month as part of the Twitter Blue subscription service. However, the service had to be discontinued after a slew of fake 'verified' accounts with the blue checkmark mushroomed on Twitter and wreaked havoc, spreading fake news and misinformation.Related: Elon Musk Really Doesn't Want To Give Apple A 30% Cut Of Twitter BlueKanye West has been suspended from Twitter for "inciting violence" after the controversial rapper posted the image of a Nazi swastika on the micro-blogging platform. Confirming the suspension, Elon Musk said that West's tweet had violated Twitter's rules against incitement to violence. In a follow-up tweet, Musk also said, "I tried my best (to prevent West's account from getting suspended)" but the Swastika was apparently one step too far even for the self-proclaimed free speech absolutist.

Kanye West Suspended From Twitter

Kanye's latest tweet was part of a long line of antisemitic posts and rants that led many of his supporters and business partners to distance themselves from him. That includes the sports goods company Adidas, which terminated its partnership with West in October following a torrent of anti-Semitic comments, hate speech and conspiracy theories. West, however, has been far from apologetic and even doubled down on many of his controversial opinions over the following weeks.

In an interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on Thursday, West praised Adolf Hitler and said he loved the Nazis in a rambling speech that has since faced heavy criticism and ridicule from almost all quarters. The initial 12-hour long suspension seems to have been extended indefinitely. However, given that Twitter under Elon Musk has restored the accounts of even the most controversial figures, it will be interesting to see if Ye's account will also be restored yet again.
