The Ellen DeGeneres Show has lost over one million viewers following toxic workplace allegations. Ellen DeGeneres began hosting her talk show on NBC in 2003, infusing comedy, pop culture, and human-interest stories into the format. The concoction quickly gained success, racking up a whopping 171 Daytime Emmy Award nominations and 61 wins over the years.

The beloved show landed in hot water in the summer of 2020, after toxic workplace accusations hit the media. Former employees alleged that the show looked nothing like its bubbly final product, but was an environment brimming with racism and sexual harassment behind the scenes. Rumors about DeGeneres, who has become famous for saying "be kind to one another," being mean in real life came to a head, swirling her and the entire production into a PR nightmare. The comedian apologized to viewers in her Season 18 premiere, saying that she's learned a lot and takes the accusations seriously.

From GIF-able celebrity moments to heartwarming human interest pieces, there was a time where everywhere loved Ellen. Unfortunately, it's hard to see past the unjust behavior that's gone on there for years. Despite her efforts to right wrongs, and "BFF" status relationships with certain sunny celebrities, DeGeneres has lost a lot of trust from the public.
