Sokovian native Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch has been a key part of most of the MCU's story arcs so far. The character—who is portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen—has been involved in major events such as the defeat of Utron, the defeat of Thanos, and the rift between the Avengers members, which was partly triggered by her field blunder in Lagos, Nigeria.
Scarlet Witch also grows a lot in the franchise. She starts off as a HYDRA agent who hates the Avengers. During her time at HYDRA, she gains superpowers such as telepathy, telekinesis, and energy manipulation. She later joins the Avengers and uses these powers for the greater good. Here are her best fight scenes in the MCU.
Backing Up Ultron Against The Avengers
In Age Of Ultron, the villain Ultron manages to convince the Maximoff twins to form an alliance with him. They then accompany him to acquire Ulysses Klaue's supply of Vibranium that he needs to further his goals.
Soon, The Avengers, led by Captain America, arrive to stop them. Captain America requests Scarlet Witch to stop but she doesn't listen. When Ultron attacks the Avengers, Scarlet joins him. She knocks Captain America back with her powers and begins "hexing" the brains of Black Widow and Thor. It's only Hawkeye that manages to subdue her.
Subduing Vision
When Steve Rogers sends Clint Barton to get Scarlet Witch from the Avengers Facility in order to help with the fight against the Sokovia Accords, Vision doesn't want her to leave. Barton and Vision begin to fight about it but Vision easily overpowers Baron, forcing Barton to ask Scarlet Witch for help.
Scarlet orders Vision to release Barton but he refuses. Managing to control the Mind Stone, Scarlet uses it to coerce Vision into releasing Barton. Vision tries to stop her again but she blasts him several years away from the facility. She then leaves with Barton for Germany.
The Battle Of Seoul
After reading Ultron's mind and learning of his true intentions, Scarlet Witch tries to escape Seoul with her brother. Before they flee, they see a news report stating that the Avengers are fighting Ultron in the middle of the city. They reconsider leaving decide to assist the heroes.
While Steve Rogers is fighting Ultron, she uses her powers to create a defensive barrier between Ultron and the Avengers member. She overpowers Ultron for a brief spell but the villain manages to destroy a moving train's control before escaping. This leaves Scarlet Witch and Steve Rogers in a race against time to rescue the passengers.
Evading The Avengers At The HYDRA Research Base
As soon as the Avengers raid HYDRA Research Base and steal the Scepter, Scarlet Witch escapes from her holding cell and uses her powers to distract Tony Stark.
Captain America is seeking to arrest Wolfgang von Strucker but just as he is planning to surrender himself, Scarlet intervenes. She knocks Captain America down a flight of stairs before escaping. It is at this point that Captain America realizes that there is another enhanced person fighting for HYDRA.
The Novi Grad City War
Scarlet Witch faces off against the Ultron Sentries a number of times during the Battle Of Sokovia. First, she uses her powers to block the enemy fire from the Sentries so that civilians don't get hurt.
Second, she goes to rescue Hawkeye who is overwhelmed by an attack by the sentries. She uses her powers to pull the Sentries apart before tossing them over Novi Grad. Next, she goes to help members of the Sokovian Police Department who have been pinned down by the Sentries. She fires energy blasts at the Sentries and saves the police.
Fending Off A Surprise Attack By Proxima Midnight
In the early stages of Infinity War, Scarlet Witch and Vision see a news report about an alien attack in New York. As Vision prepares to go and help Iron Man, the two are attacked by Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight, who then try to remove the Mind Stone from Vision's forehead.
Using her powers, Scarlet manages to hold off Glaive and Midnight for a while as she and Vision strategize on how to escape. Luckily for them, help soon comes in the form of Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon.
Defending Team Rogers At The Leipzig-Halle Airport
In Captain America: Civil War, Scarlet Witch is forced to fight against former teammates who are preventing them from flying to Siberia at the Leipzig-Halle Airport. First, she lifts several vehicles and uses them to bury Iron Man. She then pinions Black Widow's leg and throws her away from Hawkeye.
After that, she blocks Black Panther from tearing the Winter Soldier's throat and tosses him away. Later, she faces off against War Machine and hurls objects at him. To her surprise, Vision comes to her aid.
Battle Of Wakanda
When Rogers, Scarlet Witch, and Vision go to Wakanda to try and get the Mind Stone removed by Shuri, they are ambushed by Outrider Dropships. Scarlet goes out to the battlefield where she rescues Black Widow and Okoye from Threshers.
A short while later, she faces off against Proxima Midnight again. Midnight gives Scarlet, Okoye, and Black Widow a hard time and fends off their joint attacks but Scarlet manages to defeat her forcefully pushing her towards an incoming Thresher. Midnight ends up dying in the process
Defeating Ultron And The Sentries
In the final stages of Age Of Ultron, the Avengers regroup at the church in Novi Grad to prevent Ultron from activating the key. The villain then dispatches his army to attack them.
The Sentries are more aggressive this time but Scarlet Witch manages to successfully destroy hundreds of them. Thanks to the combined effort of Thor, Vision, Iron Man, and Hulk, Ultron's armor is destroyed. After Scarlet Witch's brother dies, she angrily approaches a weakened Ultron and rips his heart out.
The Thanos Face-Off
The heroes that had been previously wiped out by Thanos are brought back to life in Avengers: Endgame and Scarlet Witch is among them. She's totally enraged too. When she spots the Mad Titan on the battlefield, she doesn't hesitate to go after him. She has never been known to be afraid of anyone.
She also has revenge on her mind, after what Thanos did to Vision. In the fantastic scene, Scarlet Witch attacks Thanos and manages to break his double-edged sword. She almost suffocates him to death but he manages to break free. It's a brief but amazing fight scene that was worthy of bringing the Mad Titan's reign of terror to an end.
