A dedicated virtual cartographer and Elder Scrolls fan has created a gorgeously detailed map of Tamriel. The beloved fantasy RPG franchise has developed a fascinating and complex world for players to explore complete with various races, factions and Daedric gods. The Elder Scrolls Online map lets players journey across most of Tamriel, rather than just a single province, and now this world has been transformed into an impressive Inkarnate map.

Despite the abundance of lore detailing all of Tamriel, most Elder Scrolls games only let players explore a single province. Morrowind and Skyrim are each set in their titular regions, for example, while Oblivion takes players to the Imperial capital province of Cyrodiil. However, the massively multiplayer online game The Elder Scrolls Online stands out by allowing gamers to explore all nine of Tamriel's provinces. Even this game's map is incomplete, however, with some areas remaining off-limits to players. With the Elder Scrolls tabletop RPG fans can imagine themselves visiting every part of Tamriel, though, and now a masterful map can help guide the way.

Reddit user Bengamey_974 (via TheGamer) recently showed off an impressively detailed map of Tamriel from the Elder Scrolls franchise. Built within the fantasy map creator Inkarnate, the amazing project includes and clearly labels every location that players can visit in The Elder Scrolls Online. By zooming in on any particular area viewers can see the geography, landmarks and subtle details in each location faithfully represented. This is apparently just the first phase of the cartography project, however, with Bengamey_974 intent on continuing to flesh out other provinces using previous titles like Skyrim and Oblivion as reference.

The Elder Scrolls Fans Have A Definitive Tamriel Map

While it's not nearly as detailed as Bengamey_974's Inkarnate creation, a political map of Tamriel gives fans a fascinating look into the fantasy setting's makeup during the events of Skyrim. The series' most recent entry shows the northernmost province embroiled in a bloody civil war, which is reflected in this political map that shows the region divided between Stormcloak and Imperial rule. The project also helps shed light on where the rest of Tamriel stands during the events of Skyrim, with Elsewyr belonging to the Aldmeri Dominion faction and the reptilian Argonians expanding their territory up into Morrowind.

Players have never been able to explore all of Tamriel in a single game, but The Elder Scrolls Online gives players access to a truly generous portion of the continent. Using the MMO as a base, Bengamey_974 has been able to map out Tamriel with an impressive level of detail and accuracy. By using past single-player titles for further reference, this talented cartographer may soon have a complete map of the entire Elder Scrolls world.
