While on their adventure across Skyrim, one Dragonborn came across a dragon in a very unusual way when it came climbing out of the ground due to a glitch. Bethesda's decade-old action RPG has achieved staggering amounts of success over its multi-console generation run and still has a dedicated fanbase. Skyrim also has as added new content through one of the strongest mod communities in all of gaming.

Even with Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim's success, longevity, and multiple official updated versions, the game still has its fair share of bugs and issues. The land of the Nords is massive and many events around the world load in real-time, which sometimes translates to certain gameplay aspects not working the way they are meant too. These can result in glitches like a Skyrim elk falling from the sky or a normal guard casually swimming through the air.

Reddit user killa_hydro7 shared the latest installment of such bugs through a short video of a Skyrim glitch that shows a dragon spawning out of the ground. As soon as the town of Falkreath spawns in around the player, the dead body of a dragon immediately begins pushing its way to the surface. None of the NPCs are even remotely concerned by the unusual sight and as soon as the full body spawns in, the player is able to loot the creature for the usual dragon items. The video can be viewed below:

Not all bugs still found throughout Skyrim are as benign as this one, even after a decade of patches and updates both official and unofficial. Sometimes they can be so bizarre that a glitch can turn Skyrim's Dragonborn into a horse without seemingly any hope of changing back. Yet even when these glitches happen, the community appears to mostly embrace these bugs with a sense of humor.

It speaks volumes to the quality of Skyrim that it still manages to produce engaging content both player designed and developer designed after all these years. In spite of the lingering bugs, the game continues to have a magical draw that has many come back to the land of the Nords time and time again. A big contributor to this longevity is the modding community whose skills have only improved over the past decade to produce results like the near decade-long Skyblivion Skyrim mod. Until the Elder Scrolls 6 finally debuts, Skyrim will likely continue to be the standard for Bethesda's fantasy franchise.
