Although little at all is known about the sixth installment of the fantasy RPG series The Elder Scrolls, the quintessential Daedra are always going to be likely candidates for story villains. While the likes of Mehrunes Dagon and Molag Bal often hog the spotlight as Daedric Princes in Skyrim, underrated Daedra could appear in Bethesda's next game. Fleshing out the personalities and powers of Daedra that the players are not already familiar with would make for a compelling and interesting continuation of the franchise's titular bad guys.

The Daedra are creatures in The Elder Scrolls universe that hail from the chaotic realm of Oblivion and who are always looking for ways to meddle with or invade the mortal plane, often tempting Tamriel's citizens and players into doing foul deeds. They have been a present threat in every Elder Scrolls title since the beginning, whether the main story revolves around them or not. Skyrim's main questline did not directly revolve around any specific Daedra, but the player could still interact with a whole host of Daedric Princes and their minions through a variety of side quests and locations.

Despite the ever-present threat posed by the Daedra and their sinister masters, long-time Elder Scrolls players might not necessarily be aware of those obscured by the games' lore. Remaining immersed in mystery does not mean that these Daedra are any less powerful or influential than their more famous counterparts, and it would be a grave mistake to believe that unfamiliar Daedra like Xivilai or Daedroths are not wily and dangerous enough to prove a major threat. Here are some lesser-known Daedra without a spotlight in Skyrim who could make for terrifying villains or even uneasy allies in The Elder Scrolls 6.

Lesser-Known Elder Scrolls Humanoid Daedra Needed In TES6

The many creatures of Oblivion have made themselves known to Elder Scrolls players by being tough enemies to beat or acting as versatile allies via the Conjuration Skill. Summoning a Daedra, whether intentionally or not, can lead to an intense battle, and it's just as important to know how to defeat them. Throughout all of the games in the series, Daedra like Dremora Lords and Atronachs are easily recognizable and infamous for their unique traits. There are, however, some Daedra who would make for a fresh experience in another Elder Scrolls game.

Golden Saints and Dark Seducers are interesting inhabitants of the Shivering Isles, the home of Sheogorath, who may feature in Elder Scrolls 6. These Daedric followers guard opposing areas of the realm, Mania and Dementia respectively. The Golden Saints are haughty, opulent spellcasters who compete with Dementia's Dark Seducers for Sheogorath's favor. The Seducers are the antithesis to the Golden Saints in both appearance and temperament, and featured in Skyrim: Anniversary Edition.

The Aurorans are faithful servants of the Deadric Prince, Meridia, and they would also be candidates for attention in another Elder Scrolls game. Aurorans sport brilliant golden armor and attack using blinding light and prismatic weaponry. They have a personal history with the extinct Ayelid elves as well, meaning they could easily be embedded in a storyline that deals with the mysterious and ancient race.

One of the most powerful Daedric minions are the Xivkyn, which are an amalgamation of Dremora Lords, and the Xivilai, extremely powerful and intelligent sorcerers. They are the result of experimentation within the Vile Laboratory, a Dwemer ruin located inside the realm of Coldharbour, which belongs to the mace-wielding Molag Bal players encountered in Skyrim. As was the hope when they were created, the Xivkyn combine the strength and aggression of the Dremora with the craftiness and power of the Xivilai, making them terrifying opponents to face off against. They have only been present for a short time in The Elder Scrolls Online, and very little is actually known about them.

Lesser-Known Elder Scrolls Non-Humanoid Daedra In TES6

Daedric Titans, sometimes known as just Titans, are Molag Bal's enslaved dragon-like minions. Dragons were created by the Aedra, Akatosh, and it seems Molag Bal wanted to try his hand by creating some of his own. Molag Bal creates these monstrosities by corrupting living dragons and inverting their lifeforce to that of the Daedra instead, an incredibly destructive and painful process. The Deadric Titans serve as Molag’s most powerful minions and exploring their tortured origin and perhaps their release from servitude would make for a great story in The Elder Scrolls 6.

Some Daedric minions in Elder Scrolls and Skyrim are known for how monstrous they are, maintaining the innate feelings of horror and disgust associated with denizens of Oblivion. The Hungers are misshapen, monstrous creatures with emaciated bodies and long limbs. They spray poison from their mouths and have an insatiable appetite for mortal flesh. Vermai are spooky alien-looking Daedra with pale skin and no eyes. They have sharp teeth and insect-like limbs, making them the literal stuff of nightmares.

Daedric horses have made an appearance in Elder Scrolls Online as well as Skyrim's Creation Club mods. These fiery steeds serve as mounts for the Dremora Lords in Oblivion and given their fearsome, demonic appearance and immortal nature, they deserve to be featured more often. Whether they serve as mounts for the player, for important NPCs or even as characters all on their own, more Daedric steeds are always a good idea.

Lesser-Known Elder Scrolls Daedric Princes Who Could Be In TES6

The Lovecraftian Daedric Princes of Skyrim receive a lot of attention in Elder Scrolls titles, some even getting entire storylines dedicated to foiling their schemes. Mehrunes Dagon, Hermaeus Mora, and Molag Bal seem to have a near-constant grip on the mortal realm in one form or another, but there are some Princes who might not be as well known. Appearing to have less of an interest in mortal affairs does not make these candidates any less of a potential threat, however.

There's Mephala, the Mother of Dark Secrets, who allied with Clavicus Vile and Nocturnal in Elder Scrolls Online, although she was the least important of the three. Mephala is said to be the matron of the Spider-Daedra and inhabits the Spiral Skein, an area within Oblivion that has seldom been explored. Peryite is the Daedric Prince of disease and is often considered the weakest of the Princes. He is depicted as a green dragon and his realm within Oblivion, The Pits, has never been seen by players.

Vaermina is Elder Scrolls' Daedric Prince of dreams and nightmares, and very little is ever mentioned of her in any Elder Scrolls games. She is also associated with omens and alchemy, and her realm of Quagmire is said to be a waking nightmare, which sounds like an awesome place for players to explore in some way. Lastly, Sanguine is the Deadric Prince of debauchery, and he would make for an interesting voice in players' heads if they ever sought his help to save the world.

There is no doubt that the Daedra of The Elder Scrolls lore are always going to be present as bad guys, sources of power, or manipulative benefactors. The question remains, however, as to which of these conniving immortals is going to be present for the next game in the series. Only time will tell which of Oblivion's terrifying creatures will receive the spotlight in The Elder Scrolls 6 - whenever it releases.
