A skilled artist with a sense of justice has created a work of art depicting Elden Ring’s Pot Monster exacting revenge on behalf of the many pots shattered by Link in The Legend of Zelda. The main protagonist of Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda series, Link first appeared with the series introduction in 1986 and is often depicted as a local terror in fan-made memes due to his love of breaking pots in order to retrieve the treasures inside.

First revealed at E3 in 2019, Elden Ring is a collaboration between the Dark Souls series’ developer FromSoftware, and acclaimed author of the Game of Thrones series, George R.R. Martin. Since the 2019 reveal, information released about the game was scarce, with next to no word from the developers, leading many fans to believe the game to be canceled. Now, four years on since the beginning of Elden Ring’s development, a brand new trailer has finally been revealed, showing off the many locations and monsters to be expected within the game, along with a release date of January 21, 2022.

The release of the new Elden Ring trailer has sent its fans into a frenzy, with the majority of their attention focused around the giant Pot Monster revealed during the trailer, lovingly referred to as the Pot Goblin or Pot Boy by fans. Twitter artist Sam Peterson has created an amazing artistic imagining of Elden Ring’s Pot Monster exacting revenge on The Legend of Zelda’s Link, for the countless pots the Hylian hero has shattered during his adventures. The artwork depicts the enormous Pot Monster advancing menacingly upon Link, claws out and ready to attack, with Link standing ready to defend with his sword held out.

Elden Ring's newest trailer showed the Pot Monster for a mere few seconds, and not much is known about it or what its official name is, however, Sam Peterson’s connection of the Pot-like creature to the ill-fated pottery in The Legend of Zelda seems like a perfect matchup. Breaking pots in The Legend of Zelda series are an excellent way for players to get money, health, and other items, but Link often does not face any consequences for going into helpless NPC's homes to break their possessions. While there are deadly consequences for Link if he decides to attack the chicken-like Cucco’s in-game, no such justice was exacted for all the broken pottery until this artful intervention by Sam Peterson.

With the release date of Elden Ring finally revealed, it seems fans will not have too long of a wait until they can meet their beloved Pot Goblin in-game. It will be interesting to see what the creature will get up to when the time comes, whether it will be a formidable foe or left to face a similar fate like Hyrule's pottery - hunted for the treasures hiding inside.
