The Ancestral Infant's Head is an Item Pouch tool in Elden Ring that consumes a bit of FP to spray a bluish spirit vapor dealing magic damage to enemies. The liquid flames will fall to the ground and create ethereal puddles that will inflict continuous damage for a short period. While the DPS may seem negligible, the lasting area of effect and low FP cost in Elden Ring makes the Ancestral Infant's Head a handy side item to deal extra damage as enemies approach the player. Furthermore, the damage can be increased if the caster wears the Shining Horned Headband.

Tarnished can find the Ancestral Infant's Head in Elden Ring within a submerged ruin in Nokron, Eternal City. This zone becomes accessible once the protagonist have defeated Radahn, the Starscourge Demigod General of Caelid. A cutscene will play after the battle ends of a giant shooting star falling from the sky. This meteorite will crashland into Limgrave, creating a massive, open crater in southern Mistwood. Tarnished can delve into the pit's depths to reach Nokron, the region above Siofra River.

Starting from the first Site of Grace within Nokron, Eternal City, the player should head down the southeastern path into the wide ledge leading to the long overpass. However, before the protagonist can cross to the Ancestral Woods, they must defeat the mandatory Mimic Tear boss.

Before the boss fight begins, the Mimic Tear will become a copy of the player, duplicating their stats, equipment, abilities, and appearance. The battle will be challenging, as Tarnished must defeat an AI version of themselves. However, there is a way to cheese this boss by removing all gear and weapons before entering the arena. This way, the Mimic Tear will be nothing more than a bare human, equipped only with fists to fight. Once the battle is over, continue northeastward across the bridge and into the forest.

Travel to the northwestern clearing of Nokron's Ancestral Woods in Elden Ring to see a submerged ruin in the distance. Use the closest ledge to leap over to the ruins while atop Torrent. After getting to the other side, dismount and carefully climb up the broken wall on the right. Run down the walkway to the end but be mindful of the gap along the way. Mount Torrent again to jump across onto the empty brazier. An Ancestral Follower Shaman will be guarding the chest with the Ancestral Infant's Head. Before entering the structure, Tarnished can easily take down this foe with ranged attacks. Afterward, open the chest to receive the unique spirit-vaping tool in Elden Ring.
