Modder Luke Ross' upcoming VR mod for Elden Ring will come packed with a Tourist Mode that allows users to explore The Lands Between without having to fight enemies. Ross previously developed VR mods for Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2, letting players experience the wonders of both robust open worlds through a new lens. The modder announced the new Elden Ring build last month through PC Gamer and, in so doing, told the publication of his plan to optimize the action role-playing game for first-person play in virtual reality.

Countless Elden Ring mods continue to flood the internet, despite the title launching only a few months ago. Thus far, the incredibly talented modding community has added a wide range of features such as Easy Mode, reduced loading times, pause button options, and a transmog system. Interestingly, one recent Elden Ring mod even brought Darth Vader to FromSoftware's fantastical open-world adventure. Such efforts won't soon come to an end, either.

Those who support LukeRoss' R.E.A.L. VR modding endeavors on Patreon can look forward to an upcoming Elden Ring VR mod (via Wccftech), which will include what Ross had deemed Tourist Mode. Akin to Assassin's Creed's various Discovery Tour offerings, the Tourist Mode will focus on exploration, allowing players to freely explore The Lands Between without fear of being attacked by enemies. Little has been shown of the unofficial VR build, so far, but UploadVR recently posted a 15-minute gameplay preview on its YouTube channel that showcases the new Elden Ring mod in action. Check it out in the following video:

As with any work-in-progress mod, the above gameplay footage bears more than a fair few hiccups here and there. In some instances, the player character's helm clips through the screen. Viewers will also notice the appearance of the occasional graphical and frame rate issue. Still, this particular Elden Ring PC mod shows a lot of promise.

In addition to crafting new content and enhancing existing in-game features, Elden Ring modders have also taken to unlocking some of the role-playing game's myriad secrets. One member of the modding community, YouTuber Garden of Eyes, managed to unearth evidence of PvP arenas that were locked off from the rest of the game. Meanwhile, YouTuber and dataminer Lance McDonald discovered that a cut dream-stealing mechanic once featured a questline all its own. Elden Ring no doubt hides countless other secrets, as well.
