The latest FromSoftware title, Elden Ring, has just had its 1.02.2 patch, which fixes a few issues on the PC and PlayStation 5 versions of the game. There aren't many fixes, but those included in the patch remedy some early issues Elden Ring had just after launch. It's not the first that the game has had since its release date, and it likely won't be its last either, so those who have been plagued by problems that 1.02.2 didn't fix shouldn't despair.

Elden Ring's latest patch fixes some important issues, and has more fixes for PC than it does for console. There are four in total - one for PS5 and three for PC, although it's unclear if any address the invisible enemies glitch on Elden Ring's PC version specifically. They're all pretty major issues, some even game-breaking, so those who had been struggling with them need no longer worry.

On PC, Elden Ring's 1.02.2 patch fixed a number of miscellaneous bugs along with fixing an issue involving graphics cards and one that would force-quit the game during battle with a certain boss if the wrong conditions are met. On PS5, an issue with the game's save system was resolved, which should bring some a little peace of mind. There might not be a lot of fixes in this patch, unlike the last one, but they're focused less on balancing the gameplay and more focused on big problems that are affecting some players. More bug fixes for Elden Ring will likely be on the way too, so players shouldn't worry too much if a particular issue that's been plaguing their save file hasn't been addressed just yet.

As posted on the official Elden Ring Twitter account, the 1.02.2 patch fixes are as follows:

For PC:

  • Fixed an issue where the graphics card was not being used, resulting in poor performance.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to quit under certain conditions during a battle with a certain boss.
  • Fixed other bugs.

For PS5:

  • Changes to save game progression even when the game is not terminated.

Although this patch doesn't fix every Elden Ring issue discovered so far, FromSoftware has been rolling out minor bug fixes and tweaks since launch, with patch 1.02.3 now having arrived for PC as well. Performance has occasionally been a bit spotty on both the PC and PlayStation 5 versions of Elden Ring, and although it appears that that hasn't been fixed for PS5 in 1.02.2, there's still hope that further updates will add another layer of polish.
