The world of Elden Ring is full of unique NPCs the Tarnished can interact with across the Lands Between and, now, thanks to the industrious efforts of one dedicated fan, players can get an up-close look at what many of them actually look like. It has been less than a month since FromSoftware launched its open-world title , but fans still have lots to discover not just through datamining or modding, but also thanks to the new Elden Ring v1.03 patch which balanced and added a variety of content, including a way to keep track of all the friendly faces one encounters on their journey.

Character creators like Elden Ring's have become a unique staple of FromSoftware RPGs over the years by becoming more extensive as gaming hardware improves. While starting stats can oftentimes be relegated insignificant once the game begins, a created character's aesthetics often remain the same for the entirety of a playthrough. Elden Ring changes this trend, however, by allowing players the ability to readjust the way their character looks at any time through the mirror in Fia's room at the Roundtable Hold.

Many of FromSoftware's NPCs are also designed using the same character creation model given to the player, but this normally goes unnoticed due to the extravagant gear that often completely covers their faces and bodies. YouTuber Zullie the Witch has found a way around that for Elden Ring's beloved and robust character creator, however, thanks to datamining (via PCGamer). Not only did they discover what many of the NPCs look like, but they also found the specific character creation inputs used to generate their designs, allowing players to copy them exactly with the Roundtable Hold mirror.

Zullie ended up providing character creation settings for nearly 40 NPCs, as well as a few variants of certain characters who have different looks throughout Elden Ring. They did note, however, that there are some notably absent NPCs including the likes of Melina and Ranni. According to Zullie, these characters do not use the same player model as those on the list and can therefore only be recreated through intense guesswork.

Character creation in FromSoftware's latest title is its most detailed to date, allowing for uniquely accurate recreations such as Elden Ring's version of Nigel Thornberry among others. Unfortunately, it does take a significant amount of time to comb through all of the different settings to get a particular look, something many players do not have the patience for. Zullie's discovery provides further insight into how the character creator works, as well as giving concrete details for those looking to cosplay as their favorite NPCs in game. It is almost a guarantee that these settings will be used in some of the many Elden Ring lore videos in the coming months.
