The Godskin Duo is a fierce fight to walk into in Elden Ring, as players have likely fought these two separately at least once each. Anyone who has knows how tricky they can be individually, let alone tossed into a room together. This dangerous Duo can be found in Crumbling Farum Azula as one of the three intensely difficult bosses that call it home.

These two are a scary pair because of how efficient each of them are on their own. Both the Noble and the Apostle have ranged capabilities in Elden Ring, both have long weapons with insane damage and reach, and each enrages at 50% health, gaining access to a much wider array of attacks. Most players might think that just taking out one slowly and then dealing with the other is the best option. However, due to their shared health bar, if one is defeated, the remaining one will resummon their partner to ensure that it is always a two versus one, which Elden Ring often does. There are some things players can do to gain an edge, though.

First, using the environment is the most important aspect of this fight, bar none. Using the pillars to block fireballs while healing in Elden Ring is mandatory to survive this battle. Unfortunately, when either one of them enters their second phase, any of their attacks will destroy all but the base of the pillars. Still, they will not walk over them, so kiting them around the pillars is still viable. Second, it is always important to ensure they are not in their second phase simultaneously. Their health works uniquely, and though they share a boss health bar, each of them has their own health bar and can be killed multiple times before the fight ends. If balanced improperly, having both below 50% health can make damage windows hard to come by, so it is important to pick one and focus on them.

The beastly and wolf-like Maliketh, the Black Blade in Elden Ring.

That moves directly into the third major tip: deciding which of the Godskin Duo players find themselves having less trouble against and focusing on that one. Each of them is also susceptible to bleed and frost, so making use of those is also important to be inflicting the most damage possible. Since the Noble has a much scarier set of moves in its second phase and deceptively fast movements, the Apostle should be the target for most players. However, if the Noble is sent to the second phase, its rolling attack does get stuck on the base of pillars, and it will not roll over them. The Apostle's second phase attacks are tough, but they may benefit the player, as its stretchy body often separates it from the Noble, creating large attack windows.

There are a few ashes of war like Hoarfrost Stomp that travel through the pillars and can be used for tons of safe damage windows. Spirit summons are also viable tactics, and picking a summon that can hold enemy attention for a long time, like Lhutel the Headless or Black Knife Tiche, is valuable. Summoning friends or random players also severely lessens the difficulty, but it also increases the boss' health.

Finally, be sure not to let frustration take hold. This Duo truly thrives off of punishing mistakes and quick death combos. Players should only take opportunities when the Godskin Duo are separated enough to ensure both won't attack them simultaneously. Patience and careful use of the environment is key to victory over these two God-slaying foes.
