Once Tarnished have made their way through the Forbidden Lands in Elden Ring, they can access the Mountaintops of the Giants, yet the western half of the region is blocked off until players have found the Haligtree Secret Medallion. Similar to the Grand Lift of Dectus, players must find both halves of the Medallion to activate the Grand Lift of Rold. However, because Tarnished received the Rold Medallion in Elden Ring from Melina after defeating Morgott, the existence of another secret Medallion may not be initially apparent to them.

For clarification, the Rold Medallion will open up the eastern side of the Mountaintops of the Giants. On the other hand, the Haligtree Secret Medallion will grant access to the western half via a hidden path to the Consecrated Snowfield. Thus, if players wish to explore the entirety of the Mountaintops of the Giants, they will need to locate both sides of the Secret Medallion.

The right side of the Haligtree Secret Medallion is relatively effortless to obtain, yet the method to acquire it is somewhat obscure, making it easy to miss. To get Haligtree Secret Medallion (Right), Tarnished must travel to Village of the Albinaurics, south of the Raya Lucaria Academy in Liurnia. From the village's Site of Grace, head up the path on the right. At the end of the road, players will find a sarcophagus and, next to it, a large, curiously placed pot. Strike the strange jar to reveal Albus, an Albinauric trying to hide from the calamity that befell his village. After some dialogue, he will give Tarnished the first half of the Medallion, Haligtree Secret Medallion (Right).

Conversely, the second half of the Secret Medallion is more challenging to obtain. To get the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Left) in Elden Ring, Tarnished must make their way to Castle Sol, a fort in the far north of the Mountaintops of the Giants. After entering through the Main Gate, go straight and up onto the wooden stairway leading to the next floor. Continue ascending the linear Dungeon in Elden Ring until reaching the rooftop, where Commander Niall will be guarding the lift to the left side of the Haligtree Secret Medallion. Niall is a formidable foe that is accompanied by two phantom knights. Since Castle Sol's Commander is a high-level boss, players are recommended to be at least Levels 90 to 100 before attempting this fight.

After obtaining both sides of the Haligtree Secret Medallion, Tarnished can return to the Grand Lift of Rold and activate the hidden passage to the Consecrated Snowfield by switching the "Action" prompt to "Hoist Secret Medallion."
