A new Elden Ring leak speculates that the title will have gameplay that is close to Dark Souls 1 Dark Souls 3, while also revealing the title's plans for difficulty options and many more elements that have previously been hidden from consumers. Elden Ring is developer From Software's highly anticipated follow-up effort after the success of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The game's tantalizing early imagery and the studio's partnership with George R. R. Martin in designing the Elden Ring's world has caused fans to pay close attention to the upcoming title, despite very little actually being known about it.

Despite official Elden Ring information being hard to come by, the game itself remains a hot button topic whenever even a scrap of new info is revealed. In the absence of new footage or details, fans have also taken to generating wishlists on which features they want to either port over from previous From Software hits or remove in Elden Ring. There are even theories speculating on whether or not Elden Ring is a sci-fi fantasy game rather than the traditional high fantasy From Software is known for, despite the game's narrative remaining as much a mystery as its gameplay. The clearest thing consumers currently know about Elden Ring is that information about it is in high demand.

According to a new Elden Ring leak, a slew of new features and details have now been made available to the public. First, however, it's worth noting that the source of the leak is one of the least verifiable locations possible in the form of 4chan, a notorious message board that both prioritizes anonymity and has been the source of several false flags in the past. With that said, however, the web site also plays host to a number of legitimate leaks and info dumps, so it's at least something to pay attention to - just take the info with a grain of salt. According to the rumor, Elden Ring gameplay will more resemble Dark Souls 1Dark Souls 3 than titles like Sekiro or Bloodborne, and the game will not have difficulty options.

Elden Ring Trademark Trouble From Software

The Elden Ring leak doesn't stop there, as there's much more to sift through in the info dump. According to the rumor, Elden Ring will have an air dodge feature, will have twelve regular bosses, has Bonfire-esque checkpoints, and features inventory management inspired by Demon's Souls. That last bit of information seems trivial, but given that there is a remake of Demon's Souls in the works and its best elements are probably at the forefront of a lot of people's minds, it actually makes the Elden Ring leak feel a bit more like a reality rather than just baseless speculation. According to the leaker, the Xbox event later in July will be what plays host to a massive Elden Ring trailer reveal.

Obviously, this Elden Ring leak cannot be confirmed by any trustworthy news source, so fans will need to temper expectation until something official comes out. There are a number of red flags on this particular rumor report, too. For one, the leaker gets the date of the Xbox Event wrong - they say July 21, but Xbox's July event is July 23. It also states there will be towns to rest in, but over a year ago From Software stated that Elden Ring's open world will not have towns at all. Obviously, things could have changed in the year that has passed since, but these discrepancies suggest that this rumor is likely false. Still, the leak states that screenshots of the game should begin dropping July 6 - today, as of this writing - so it won't be long before fans know one way or another if there's any truth to this Elden Ring rumor.
