The Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman is a Legendary Talisman in Elden Ring that reduces all physical damage taken by 20%. Despite having "Greatshield" in its name, this Talisman does not require Tarnished to wield a shield for its buff to take effect. Therefore, players can equip the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman before facing any enemy that deals heavy physical damage. However, keep in mind that this Dragoncrest Talisman in Elden Ring cannot be used as an offset for Radagon's or Marika's Soreseal, as they increase damage taken for damage types.

The Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman pairs exceptionally well with builds focused on damage absorption. For instance, those using the "Invincible" Fingerprint Stone Shield will significantly boost their defenses with this Talisman equipped. Basic physical attacks and combos from formidable foes such as Malenia or Radagon can be easily blocked with this Talisman in one's loadout. Nonetheless, Tarnished still must be cautious of any enemy abilities or Spells that deal non-physical damage.

To get the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman in Elden Ring, Tarnished must have access to Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. This area becomes available once Tarnished has collected both halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion. This item can be used to unlock the Hidden Path to the Haligtree at the Grand Lift of Rold. Alternatively, Tarnished have also found a way to "glitch" into the Consecrated Snowfield by leaping off the ridge north of the Shack of the Lofty. Players can then have the option to resurrect at a nearby Stake of Marika, allowing them to exploit their way into the region without completing the Haligtree Secret Medallion.

Where To Find Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman

Elden Ring Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman Map Location

Once Elden Ring fans reach the Haligtree, they must make their way to the Drainage Channel, which is accessed by crossing a river of Scarlet Rot near the Elphael Inner Wall. For clarification, the Inner Wall is on the opposite northwestern end from the Prayer Room, the first Site of Grace in Elphael. Accordingly, starting from the Drainage Channel Grace, exit the tunnel and turn left onto the giant branch leading to a chapel-like structure in the distance. This route is the same path players will take if they are looking for Malenia, Blade of Miquella.

However, after reaching the drop-off point to the church's balcony, turn left and walk up the gable connected to the central palace. At the southwestern end, players will find a branch leading to the rooftop of the small cathedral. Here, adventurers will discover a square-shaped hole near the steeple that leads to the rafters of the chapel. Carefully drop onto the wooden beam below and jump to the hidden terrace below. The Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman will be in the chest guarded by several Kindred of Rot.
