A new trailer has announced that Elden Ring will receive its first DLC tomorrow, entitled Colosseum. Fans who have exhausted all that the FromSoftware title has to offer since its release earlier this year have long speculated about what new DLC could contain. Early datamines of the game suggested that Colosseum-based combat could be coming as an update to the game, but no confirmation had been given by developers until now.The official Elden Ring Twitter account has shared a new trailer for the Colosseum DLC, which is slated to release tomorrow, December 7, proving datamine rumors of an Elden Ring Colosseum area had weight to them after all. This new update will add fresh co-op challenges for Tarnished to face together, as well as a dedicated PvP arena for them to fight each other. Not much else has been revealed about the update, leaving much for players to discover for themselves when it releases for free this week.Related: Elden Ring DLC Can Make Sorcery More Than Just Murder

Colosseum Is An Exciting Beginning To Elden Ring DLC

Players have long been waiting for Elden Ring DLC to be announced, and the Colosseum update being revealed so close to its release date is a great surprise. This means fans will barely have any time to wait before they can engage in exciting new battles both with and against other players. While players could already participate in PvP using Elden Ring's invasion system, and garner help from other players in tough battles through summoning, this Colosseum update will add a whole new dimension to those gameplay elements.

This is possibly the first of several DLCs players will see for Elden Ring, and it's certainly a strong start to kick things off. It's been rumored that more DLC could still be shown later this week during The Game Awards, with this announcement perhaps serving as a way to make a TGA reveal more unexpected. However, it would behoove players to not get too ahead of themselves when it comes to anticipating future DLC for the game, instead taking the time to savor all that Colosseum has to offer first.

Considering past datamines hinted at multiple Elden Ring DLCs in the works, Colosseum likely isn't the only update players will receive for the game. When those will be announced is still a mystery, but players can finally stop speculating about the Colosseum DLC with this exciting trailer reveal and incredibly soon release date. There's still much left to learn about Elden Ring Colosseum, but it's clear that the DLC will open up a whole new style of gameplay for fans to enjoy.
