When it comes to items, Elden Ring has so many that it might be hard to count them all, but Deathroot is one of the more unique items to find. Deathroot is a rare item used to purchase items through Gurranq, the Beast Clergyman. However, as rare as Deathroot is, legend has it that those who want the root are players who live in death and invite it upon themselves.

In Elden Ring, players get a lot of different types of spells and equipment, and where Deathroot is concerned, trading them in gives a bit of each. One item players get by turning in a Deathroot is the Clawmark Seal, a weapon that does beast incantations with no Faith usage. The Ash of War: Beast's Roar also gives players additional dexterity on their equipped weapons. Be careful of providing too many Deathroots to Gurranq as he'll attack after the fourth. If he's beaten but not killed, he'll continue trading, but if he dies, he'll give an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.

Seeing how there are different ways to build characters in Elden Ring, Gurranq has items that will help for any build. Some bosses will succumb easier when playing in one type of build rather than another, which gives some variety. Rideable mounts have been another element that Elden Ring has brought forth is the Souls-style gameplay as well as a jump button. These new variables give for a different flavor than most fans know from these series, and Deathroot goes a small way to provide some new tactics.

Where Is Deathroot Dropped In Elden Ring

Elden Ring - All Keen Ashes of War Locations

When it comes to finding Deathroot in Elden Ring, players can acquire it at a few currently known locations. The first location is in the Deathtouched Catacombs. Inside, a Black Knife Assassin awaits guarding a chest holding a piece of Deathroot. Another place is in Gelmir Hero's Grave, where getting the Deathroot is trickier. A boss called the Red Wolf Of The Champion is inside the door, but it's unnecessary to fight the boss to get the Deathroot. Reach the section with a narrow path with lava flowing on each side. Be careful of the chariot and hide in the side tunnels to avoid a swift death.

Head to the end of the corridor at the bottom, into the lava, healing along the way. Don't turn left to continue into the lava, but look for a small opening in the right corner. Drop to the bottom using different platforms and go into the readily available door past the boss to get the Deathroot in the chest at the end. Also, there are four Tibia Mariners that, when killed, will drop Deathroot. The Mariners' locations are at waters around Summonwater Village, Southeast of Wyndham Ruins, near Stargazer's Ruins, and south from the Artist's Shack on the left towards Carian Study Hall. Another location is inside the Black Knife Catacombs, where the Cemetery Shade boss guards another chest containing a Deathroot.
