The Crimson Tear Scarab is a helmet in Elden Ring that increases the HP recovered from the Flask of Crimson Tears by 10% at the cost of reduced damage negation. Due to this drawback, the buff's effect is likely decreased after the damage values have been calculated. However, one partially inconvenient yet practical way to use the Crimson Tear Scarab is by putting it on when healing in Elden Ring but taking it off during combat. For instance, adventurers could don the helmet to heal between mob battles in a large Dungeon. As a result, the bonus HP restored is substantial as there will not be any loss associated with its debuff.

Those not interested in the passive effects of the Crimson Tear Scarab can wear the headpiece simply for its bold aesthetic or for completing their collection of Scarab helmets. Tarnished pilgrims could also combine the bug helm to match other red attire, such as Fire Prelate Set, Rotten Duelist Set, or even Redmane Knight Set.

The Crimson Tear Scarab in Elden Ring is located in the exterior section of Volcano Manor, after the Temple of Eiglay. The manor sits atop Mt. Gelmir's molten summit in Altus Plateau. To reach this location, players must travel up the mountain by starting from the mouth of the Seethewater River or the First Mt. Gelmir Campsite, accessed from the Bridge of Iniquity.

Finding The Crimson Tear Scarab In Elden Ring

Elden Ring Crimson Tear Scarab Map Location

After defeating the Godskin Noble to activate the temple's Site of Grace, ride the lift to the chapel's second floor. Walk to the balcony and leap off onto the ridge below and ascend the narrow path to the eastern portion of Volcano Manor's exterior area. Get past the Abductor Virgin and enter the open window on the left. Go out the doorway on the right and jump over the railing to the small ridge below a hidden corpse. Loot the body to obtain the Crimson Tear Scarab in Elden Ring.

Those who've unlocked the shortcut lift beside the Temple of Eiglay have access to a quick route. Starting from the Grace, ride the elevator to the second tower on the upper level. Exit the door on the right, go past the Man-Serpent guard, and walk to the same spot near the bridge's corner. Leap down to get the red bug helmet. If players are unable to fast travel back to a Grace Site due to enemy hostility, there's a small path to the east that leads back to the small lava pond outside the temple's balcony.
