One most obnoxious bosses of the late-game phase in Elden Ring is Mohg, the underworld Demigod Lord of Blood in Mohgwyn Palace. While he is an optional boss, many Tarnished will want to slay the Blood Lord for his Bloodboon Incantation or Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear from Enia in the Roundtable Hold. The spear, in particular, is highly overpowered, as its unique Bloodboon Ritual skill can destroy enemies, bosses, and even PvP Invaders in Elden Ring with its relentless AoE bleeding damage.

Mohg is difficult to kill, mainly because of his high HP pool and lethal bleeding damage that he inflicts with his far-reaching abilities. While he is undoubtedly not as brutally challenging as Malenia, Blade of Miquella, the Lord of Blood boss fight can be loathsome nonetheless. Fortunately, savvy Tarnished pilgrims have figured out multiple techniques to cheese Mohg, allowing challengers to defeat the Blood Lord before he can land a single blow.

Prior to Elden Ring's 1.03 update, Tarnished were able to perform an exploitative jump from atop a tombstone outside the Mohg's arena. They could then leap into the boss room and slay the glitched and non-aggroed Demigod without any trouble or effort. However, the tombstone has been moved since the new Elden Ring patch, rendering this method impossible. Yet, Tarnished have still managed to devise two new techniques to bring the Lord of Blood down where he stands, literally.

Cheesing The Mohg Boss Fight In Elden Ring

The first way to cheese Mohg in Elden Ring is by consecutively activating Mohg's Shackle in front of the boss room's mist and then entering the arena. Slamming down the tool 3 to 5 times can mysteriously cause the Blood Lord to freeze in place, allowing Tarnished to strike him until he dies. However, there are some caveats to this technique. First, this method may not work for some people, meaning this glitch exploit doesn't trigger for them. Next, Mohg can "awaken" if his Poise is broken in Elden Ring, causing him to become active once he regains himself after being staggered. Therefore, be cautious not to strike him too frequently while he's frozen. Thirdly, he may also aggro if his body turns slightly. Hence, make sure he always faces forward when landing blows on his stiff body.

Those who are unable to trigger the first glitch for Mohg or have yet to discover his Shackle can execute the second cheese method with a bow and multiple arrows. First, purchase the Longbow from Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold for 1,200 Runes. Those playing as a Samurai will already have this weapon as their starter item. Next, craft or purchase several hundred ailment-inflicting arrows. For instance, Tarnished can buy infinite Serpent Arrows from the Dragonbarrow's Isolated Merchant in Elden Ring. Outside Mohg's arena, stand on the tallest tombstone near the elevator. Entering first-person, aim above the Blood Lord and begin firing arrows at him. The projectiles themselves will not deal damage, but the status effect will, such as Poison or Hemorrhage.

This second technique may take several minutes to half an hour, but it's the safer and easier option compared with the first cheese method. Those having trouble with holding enough arrows can use the "Leave Selected" with a stack on 99 on the lift. Manually return to the Site of Grace to restock and repeat the process to have hundreds of arrows lying about for easy use. Remember to do this preparation before the cheesing process in Elden Ring, as Mohg's HP will replenish upon reloading the area.
