One of the best sets of armor in Elden Ring is the Bull-Goat Set which belongs to Great Horned Tragoth, an NPC known for assisting the Tarnished in the Lands Between. The only way to get the armor set is by invading Tragoth's world, but there are very specific requirements that players have to meet beforehand. If he is defeated in combat, however, players will instantly be rewarded with Tragoth's full set of armor.
The Bull-Goat Set is comprised of four heavy pieces of armor that have 63 weight altogether, making it better suited for characters builds like a Vagabond in Elden Ring. In the complete set, the Bull-Goat armor features 170 Immunity, 197 Robustness, 110 Focus, 130 Vitality, and 100 Poise, making it well worth the time to go through the myriad of steps to acquire it. Additionally, there is also a Bull-Goat Talisman that players can earn, though it's a separate questline from the armor set itself.
Long before players can meet Great Horned Tragoth in battle, they'll need to head to Murkwater Cave in Limgrave to open a chest. This will prompt a character named Patches to appear and instigate a fight, but it should not be a difficult mini-boss that players need to over-prepare for. Unlike other fights in Elden Ring such as Margit the Fell Omen, there isn't really a strategy to beating Patches provided Tarnished players aren't grossly under-leveled. Additionally, Patches' life has to be spared in order to get the Bull-Goat Set, so when he begins to cower stop attacking him and select the "Forgive and Forget" dialogue option. Next, players will need to travel to Volcano Manor and join the covenant there to meet Patches and receive his quest.
How To Get The Bull-Goat Armor & Talisman In Elden Ring
Once players are part of the Volcano Manor covenant, speak with patches and select the "About Patches" dialogue option. Once the conversation is over, speak with Tanith and complete an assassination letter, then talk to her about Lord Rykard. Afterward, speak with Patches once more to receive and read the "Letter to Patches," which will prompt players to travel to Ruin-Strew Precipice. This location is easy to reach by opening Elden Ring's large map and fast traveling to the Ravine Site of Grace in West Liurnia. From there, players can reach Ruin-Strew Precipice by following the ravine northeast to continue on their journey to get the Bull-Goat Set.
At the end of Ruin-Strew Precipice is a Magma Wyrm mini-boss that the Tarnished will have to defeat, and afterward, a new Site of Grace will appear. Rest at it, and a red summon sign should spawn just ahead of the grace. This red summon sign will allow players to invade Great Horned Tragoth's world, the only requirement is that players defeat him. Great Horned Tragoth uses a massive war hammer and crossbow, and like many boss fights in Elden Ring, players will need to exercise patience to defeat him. To get the Bull-Goat Talisman afterward, travel to the Minor Erdtree in Caelid and head to the Dragonbarrow Cave. Using the tree icon on the map, the cave can be found just slightly above the center of the image. Once inside, defeat the bear and continue onward to find the Talisman in a chest.
