The revolutionary Elden Ring will soon be translated into a board game, with a Kickstarter campaign set to start in the near future. The FromSoftware title has seen immense success since its release earlier this year, with Elden Ring becoming famous for breaking convention and containing a massive world full of unique monsters. With that immersive world now set to be translated into a board game, fans will have a whole new way to experience Elden Ring all over again.

Elden Ring takes a different route than other FromSoftware titles like Bloodborne by incorporating a massive open world that fans can explore in any way they like. Fans can easily put 100 or more hours into the game, as there are over 100 bosses to fight, a huge amount of secrets to find, and numerous combat techniques and abilities to master. While the beloved game has already seen tabletop-RPG integrations like one-off Elden Ring Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, it's never taken the form of a direct adaptation.

Steamforged Games will be making an Elden Ring board game, as reported by GamesRadar, with a Kickstarter set to launch in the near future. The tabletop game with not utilize dice, and will be designed for one to four players. The Steamforged Games blog has teased a Margit figurine for the game. Little is known about exactly how combat or exploration will work in the game, but Steamforged co-founder and chief creative officer Matt Hart stated that fans should expect "a dark, richly-realised tabletop world of mystery and peril, with satisfying combat and rewarding exploration." The Steamforged Games Ltd. Kickstarter campaign for the game doesn't yet have an announced release date.

An Elden Ring Board Game Is Perfect For Fans Hungry For More Content

While there are certainly things to do in Elden Ring after beating the game, it's been several months since the title released, and it's likely that many players feel they've exhausted most of what the game has to offer them. While the board game certainly won't be releasing any time soon, considering even the campaign to fund it hasn't begun yet, tabletop RPG games have the potential to create an essentially limitless amount of content for players to enjoy depending on their design. It sounds like the Elden Ring board game will contain many of the same elements of freedom and exploration as its video game counterpart, and it could be a huge outlet for player creativity and strategy.

While there have been recent updates to Elden Ring, and these will likely continue for the foreseeable future, a board game is a completely different way to experience the beloved Lands Between. It will offer players a new way to play with their friends and think of strategy for the series in a whole new way. While it will probably be many years before players will see the Elden Ring board game release, it should be something to look forward to.
