The Axe Talisman is an accessory in Elden Ring that enhances the damage output of charged attacks by 10%. Contrary to its name, this Talisman can effectively increase the charged attack power of all weapon types, not exclusively Axes. However, bear in mind that this effect does not apply to charged Spell attacks from magical armaments. Furthermore, the Axe Talisman does not affect skills in Elden Ring that have "charge" in their title, such as Charge Forth or Prelate's Charge.

For clarification, the Axe Talisman will provide a 10% buff to attacks executed by holding down the button or key that performs one's Strong Attack. This action will usually involve the character momentarily winding up before unleashing a devasting strike. Although the Axe Talisman does provide a substantial boost for combat, it is vital to note that charged attacks require careful timing, especially when fighting hard-hitting opponents. In other words, the Axe Talisman isn't necessarily what makes a player more powerful but rewards them for properly landing timed charged attacks.

The Axe Talisman is located in the Mistwood Ruins of East Limgrave. As a result, Tarnished adventurers can acquire this Talisman relatively early or even from the start of their journey. Starting from the Agheel Lake North Site of Grace near the Gatefront Ruins, ride eastward. After crossing a short footbridge, head up the highway leading to the Third Church of Marika. Next, trek south into the Mistwood forest. After passing the area's Map Fragment, Elden Ring players will soon come upon the Mistwood Ruins.

Finding The Axe Talisman In Elden Ring

Elden Ring Axe Talisman Location

Similar to the Hidden Cellar of the Gatefront Ruins, the Mistwood Ruins only have a single underground chamber with the Axe Talisman. However, the entryway to this vault is blocked by a Lesser Runebear surrounded by several Trina Lilies. Those coming to this location after reaching a mid or high character level shouldn't have too much trouble fighting this beast. The primary strategy when dealing with this mob is to keep close to its side and hind legs, as it mainly uses frontal attacks. However, be careful not to get caught in a corner, as its massive body can potentially trap players in a small space.

Tarnished travellers deciding to visit the Mistwood Ruins at a low level are advised not to fight the Runebear as it is not worth the time or effort. Instead, lure the enemy away from the entrance and descend into the crypt to acquire the Talisman. Because of the bear's large size, it cannot follow the player into the vault. From here, Tarnished can either cheese the Runebear from the entry point or wait to escape when an opening is available.
