After Tarnished makes their way through Liurnia in Elden Ring, they will arrive at the Grand Lift of Dectus, an elevator mechanism that will grant players access to the Atlus Plateau. However, the lift cannot operate without the Dectus Medallion, which has been separated into two halves and placed in different regions of the Lands Between. Therefore, to activate the Grand Lift of Dectus, Elden Ring fans must locate both sides of the item to advance into the next region of their journey.

Once Tarnished finds one half of the Dectus Medallion in Elden Ring, the item's description will reveal to them the location of the other. Nonetheless, the game doesn't distinctly hint at where to find either of the sides. Accordingly, players might feel be bewildered concerning where to look. Fortunately, both pieces of the medallion are in locations that players will have likely visited or passed by at least once during their exploration through the game's first two regions, Limgrave and Caelid.

The left half of the Dectus Medallion can be found within Fort Haight in Elden Ring, a keep located in the southeast of East Limgrave. Players can begin at the Third Church of Marika's Site of Grace and travel south along the main path to reach the fort. As players approach the bastion, they should be cautious of the firing ballista. The Ash of War: Bloody Slash can be obtained in this location by defeating the Beast Crest Heater Knight at the top of the ramparts. After Tarnished ascends to the top of the tower on the right, they will find a chest with the Dectus Medallion (Left) inside.

Next, Elden Ring fans must go to Fort Faroth in Dragonbarrow, located in the eastern region of Caelid, to find the Dectus Medallion (Right). Be careful when approaching the keep, as a dragon is resting nearby the main path leading to the entrance. The enemies in this location will be stronger than those they faced in Fort Haight. As a result, players who feel under-leveled should try their best to avoid confrontation and swiftly ascend the fort's tower in Elden Ring to retrieve the medallion's right half. An important detail to note is that the fort's interior is quite dim, so using a torch to illuminate enemies lurking in the darkness may be helpful.

Once players have both the left and right sides of the Dectus Medallion, they can return to the Grand Lift of Dectus in northern Liurnia to activate the mechanism and access the Atlus Plateau.
