Netflix has released a brand-new trailer for their forthcoming mystery-thriller miniseries Echoes starring Michelle Monaghan and Matt Bomer. The story of Echoes revolves around two identical twin sisters, Leni and Gina (both played by Monaghan), who share a secret: they have been secretly swapping lives since their childhood, which culminates with them leading a double life where they share two homes, two husbands, and a child. However, when one of them goes missing, their seemingly perfect world descends into chaos. The series also features a supporting cast that includes Daniel Sunjata, Ali Stroker, Karen Robinson, Michael O'Neill, Celia Weston, and Jonathan Tucker.

Now, Netflix has dropped an official trailer for Echoes, putting the spotlight on Monaghan as she plays the dual roles of Leni and Gina. Surrounded by an eerie background score, the trailer begins with the twins wishing each other happy birthday as their unnerving relationship and close connection are established. Almost immediately, Leni goes missing, which kickstarts a widespread search. As the trailer progresses, it's revealed that there may be more to the mystery when Gina realizes that an outsider might know about their secret. Check out the full trailer below:

Echoes marks Monaghan's first TV role since she starred in Netflix's 2020 series Messiah. Having featured in a supporting role for the first season of HBO's popular anthology series True Detective opposite Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, the Source Code actress is no stranger to the mystery genre. However, Echoes will find her taking center stage in what promises to be a highly intriguing puzzle for viewers to solve. Audiences can stream Echoes when the miniseries drops on Netflix on August 19th.
