The Electronic Entertainment Expo, E3 2021is going to be a very different show than usual, but the ESA wasn't willing to sit out yet another year simply because it couldn't hold an in-person show. E3 is going all-digital this year and because of that, the show will need some hosts. Numerous internet personalities including former IGN writer and Kinda Funny co-founder Greg Miller will help guide viewers through the digital version of E3 this summer.

E3 2021 will be hosted online in June and is expected to still be a considerably major event despite the lack of in-person festivities. E3 was canceled in its entirety last year, as it was too late to make necessary changes in order to move to an online format as a result of the pandemic. It was a huge blow, as the show would've been a key place to demonstrate the Xbox Series X in-person and likely display some third-party PlayStation 5 games. Nonetheless, platform holders and publishers still made reveals online via their own showcases, and Geoff Keighley's Summer Games Fest, which will also return this summer.

It's unclear what the scale of Summer Games Fest will be, but E3 will feature publishers like Xbox and Nintendo, ensuring that marquee titles will be present. E3 2021 will also feature three top-tier industry hosts, including the aforementioned Greg Miller, eSports commentator Alex "Goldenboy" Mendez, and IGN and Nerdist's Jacki Jing. The trio will provide expert insight from Saturday, June 12 through Tuesday, June 15 with commentary, developer interviews, and much more.

It sounds like it'll be a great way to handle the show under the current circumstances. Outlets like GameSpot and IGN usually fill these roles, but they won't be able to since E3 is much more linear this year. It's still relatively unclear what shape E3 will take in terms of its press conferences, and how the days will be filled when there aren't any conferences. Ubisoft has already confirmed its E3 presser for June 12, but that's the most concrete plan for the show so far.

Given that E3 is usually an all-day affair, it seems likely that the show will be packed with extended gameplay demos and interviews to make sure the time gets filled. It's also entirely possible that the show won't last all day, but will instead feature a condensed schedule to make sure there's no unnecessary fluff. Either way, an incredible line-up of hosts have been hand-picked to ensure that E3 2021 won't be boring and will hopefully be both informative and entertaining.
