Kirby Anders has been a recurring character in the CW series Dynasty since the second season. Portrayed by Maddison Brown, she is the daughter to the Carringtons' trusted majordomo, Joseph Anders. After being sent away from the Carrington Estate as a child, she returned as an adult and became a major player in Atlanta's high circles.

Kirby was also a character in the original Dynasty series where she was portrayed by Kathleen Beller. In the reboot, Kirby has been involved in a number of key storylines, hence becoming one of the fan-favorite characters. But in as much as her story is well known, viewers probably didn't know the following few things about her.

Favorite Band

Kirby in Dynasty

Kirby's favorite band is Moaning Lisa. This an Australian band that was formed in 2016. This detail was revealed in the episode "You Make Being a Priest Sound Like Something Bad."

The episode had plenty of musical elements. It is the episode in which Fallon decided to compose a song for Liam as a wedding gift. It's also the episode in which Blake and Anders were kidnapped in Maldovia. Most importantly, it's the episode in which Cristal was considering sleeping with the priest

Her Sexuality

Perhaps a detail a lot of viewers missed is that Kirby is bisexual. When she hooked up with Jeff Colby early on in the second season, Monica was surprised and stated that she didn't know Kirby was attracted to men. This implied that Kirby previously hooked up with women only.

Even though Kirby is bisexual, she is yet to date a female on the show. Hopefully, this will change in future seasons to come and audiences will see her exploring her sexuality.

She Grew Up At The Manor

When she was introduced in the second season, Kirby came from Australia. It was thus assumed that this is where she grew up. But this wasn't the case. According to a Season 2 CW press release back in 2018, Kirby actually grew up at the Carrington Manor.

She was raised at the staff’s living quarters where her father resided. But unlike her father, she was more fond of the servants than the Carringtons. She even had a rocky relationship with Fallon and this was the reason why she left the Manor. She only returned to Atlanta to make amends with her father.

Relationships

Kirby has been romantically involved with five people ever since she was introduced to the series. Kirby briefly hooked up with Jeff Colby in the second season. After that, she dated Michael Culhane but the two broke up.

One night, she slept with Victor Diaz, a professional soccer player for the Atlantix who she had fallen for at first sight. She was also involved with the charming public speaker Joel Turner. Kirby also began a relationship with Adam Carrington when he helped rescue her from a synergy group.

Number Of Siblings

Dynasty Anders Kirby

While Kirby's only biological sibling in the reboot is her half-brother Steven, she had two siblings in the original series namely; Sean Rowan and Victoria Anders. In the reboot, Steven was initially thought to be the son of Blake but it turned out he was the son of Kirby's father Joseph Anders from an affair with Alexis.

In the original series, Kirby's brother Sean Rowan hated the Carringtons and was determined to take them down. This was because they had humiliated Kirby and destroyed his father Joseph's life.

Jobs She Has Had

When she came back to Atlanta, Kirby wasted no time in making herself feel at home. She has worked several jobs ever since she came back. Kirby has worked as a Millennial Content Consultant at Femperial Publishing. She later went on to own the company after she betrayed Fallon.

Kirby also worked as a waitress at Club Colby. She was hired by Monica to help her run the place. Lastly, Kirby has served as an Event Coordinator at Sammy Jo's upscale hotel La Mirage.

Grudge With Fallon

Fallon and Kirby in Dynasty

Fallon first appeared in the series after Sammy invited her to attend his wedding. Sammy also wanted to reunite her with her dad. He soon learned that he had made a mistake since Kirby and Fallon didn't get along. As a result, Kirby has been the recipient of some of Fallon's best insults. But what is the source of their grudge?

In the episode "The Butler Did It", it was revealed that Kirby held a grudge against Fallon Carrington because she believed it was Fallon's fault that she was booted out of the Carrington Estate. Kirby later learned that Alexis was behind it all. Alexis had framed her for setting fire to Fallon's bedroom, thus forcing the Carringtons to banish her.

She Is A Feminist

Kirby believes in equal rights and opportunities for men and women. When she bought Femeperial Publishing from Fallon for $1 and refused to sell it back, she promised to instill feminist ideas into the company.

However, Kirby soon realized she was unable to run the company by herself.  She began hunting for a new CEO, but Fallon thwarted her efforts by portraying her as a drunk in front of all the potential CEOs. In the episode, "What Sorrows Are You Drowning?" Kirby decided to sell Femperial.

The Character Has Been Portrayed By Two Actresses

Australian model and actress Maddison Brown is the actress known for portraying Kirby. Before appearing in the CW series, Maddison starred in the Australian TV shows Go Big and The Kettering Incident. She also starred as the daughter of Nicole Kidman's character in Strangerland.

But Maddison isn't the only actress to appear as Kirby in the reboot. In a flashback scene, a teenage Kirby was portrayed briefly by child actress Sydney Bullock. Sydney s yet to star in any other major productions.

The Reason She Left The Carrington Estate

The reason for Carrington's departure from the Carrington Estate is much different in the original series. While she left due to differences with Alexis and Fallon in the reboot, her departure in the original series was because her father Joseph Anders sent her to Europe to study.

There, she fell in love with a French man named Jean-Paul Cadot. They got engaged but Kirby soon discovered that he was a married man. Heartbroken, she flew back to Denver and returned to the mansion.
