The upcoming Dying Light 2: Stay Human will be coming to Nintendo Switch via the cloud, allowing for handheld on-the-go play when the game releases next year. The zombie-parkour sequel was set to release in 2021 before developer Techland announced another delay for Dying Light 2, pushing the game to February 2022.

The next Dying Light game is set to be worth the wait, promising to improve on the 2015 original with a bigger world filled with even more threats for players to overcome. The game will feature a dynamic day-night cycle, with the darkness bringing new terrors and challenges to face. As seen in multiple developer update videos from Techland, the game will have a focus on fluid movements, with players able to wall-run and swing their way through the city. With around 200 weapons for players to discover and twice as many parkour moves as the original Dying Light, the sequel is already shaping up to be one of the most action-packed games on the horizon.

Dying Light 2's Nintendo Switch release was announced during the recent September Nintendo Direct stream. Using cloud streaming technology, Dying Light 2 will be available on the console on the same day it releases for other platforms: February 4 2022. A free demo of the game will be available on the same day, giving fans a chance to try out the cloud title before committing to a purchase. As well as the sequel, Nintendo Switch players will also be able to enjoy the first game thanks to the Dying Light Platinum Edition, coming to Switch on October 19.

Nintendo fans have seen a number of big games releasing on Switch thanks to cloud streaming, despite the limited capabilities of the console. The Switch is less powerful than other consoles of its generation, like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and many games have struggled with their Switch releases, suffering from a drop in the quality of graphics and framerate. Cloud streaming is a good workaround for this problem, though players will need a solid internet connection to make the most of Dying Light 2.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human has suffered a number of delays since it was first revealed, but it seems Techland is now confident in its February release. The game being announced for Nintendo Switch on the same day suggests the company is doubling down on the date, making any further delays unlikely. It's hoped the cloud version of Dying Light 2 will be as impressive as the gameplay seen from more powerful hardware.
