In an odd but fascinating discovery, players have uncovered that Techland's newest post-apocalyptic action-adventure Dying Light 2 features a hidden rideable bicycle that can only be accessed using a developer debug menu. The long-anticipated sequel to the survival horror game Dying Light was released last week and garnered mixed but mostly favorable reviews that praised it for its open-world exploration and thrilling combat that evolved its predecessor's formula. While its numerous technical shortcomings were detested, the developer released a large day-one patch that included more than 1,000 fixes for the bugs that plagued the title and deemed it unplayable by many.

Set more than 20 years after the original game in an isolated urban city, the zombie-filled Dying Light 2 follows freelance runner Aiden Caldwell as he completes jobs for The City's citizens. While taking on tasks in a freely-explorable world four times bigger than the original, players can use the title's upgraded parkour mechanics and gadgets to easily travel around the city and evade oncoming zombies and faction enemies. The action-adventure game will also feature the return of Dying Light's hack-n-slash combat with a new system that requires players to scavenge for parts to build or upgrade weapons for new obstacles that will need to be overcome.

As reported by Eurogamer, Reddit user Taki7o7 shared a clip of their discovery that appears to be a secret hidden bike that can be used by players in Dying Light 2. During the clip, the player can be seen riding around and showing off the bicycle in the downtown area of The City. Oddly, the animation to equip the bike appears to be janky. This makes much more sense when other players in the comments mention that the bike can only be accessed via a developer menu on PC and is currently undiscovered in-game. While its location is unknown, the bike is believed to have been cut from the game and Techland has yet to make a statement confirming its whereabouts or removal from the game.

Dying Light 2 appears to be full of secrets and Easter eggs waiting to be discovered by curious players. Similarly, players discovered a homage Easter egg in Dying Light 2 that pays tribute to the popular survival horror series Resident Evil. With Dying Light 2 now officially released, it's a matter of time before more are discovered and it's unknown what Techland has hidden in the deep open-world of The City.

With the addition of the paraglider, grappling hook, and its traversal mechanics, the exclusion of rideable bicycles is more sensible. It's unknown if the bicycle is still hidden in-game, but those inquisitive can begin searching, as Techland's latest zombie adventure Dying Light 2 is officially out.
