The Korek Charm, a weapon modification in Dying Light 2 that can be used to provide infinite durability, arguably makes the game too easy by allowing players to keep weapons in their inventory indefinitely. The Korek Charm, when applied to a weapon, adds +500 durability to the weapon. When the weapon’s durability is getting low, players can switch out the Dying Light weapon mod for another, then switch back to the Korek Charm and receive the +500 buff once again. There’s no limit on how many times the Korek Charm can be reapplied to the same weapon.

The Korek Charm’s ability to infinitely regenerate durability for a weapon renders the weapons unbreakable, removing any concerns over weapon durability. This allows players to keep their favorite weapon for the entire game, without having to worry about it eventually breaking. Due to the Korek Charm’s huge durability buff, it can’t be applied to unique legendary weapons, as these cannot be modified. Additionally, players can’t obtain the charm at the beginning of the game, as it’s difficult to ascend the VNC Radio Tower in Dying Light 2 unless the "Broadcast" story mission has been completed first.

Due to the Korek Charm’s powerful nature, some Dying Light 2 fans have questioned why the weapon mod exists in the first place, as it renders the durability mechanic of the survival game pointless. One player took to Reddit to raise this question, questioning the Korek Charm’s infinite uses. The post was quickly rebuffed by other Dying Light 2 players, with the responses highlighting the Korek Charm’s optional nature. It’s possible to play the entire game without even knowing the Korek Charm exists, and players must go to great lengths to acquire the necessary blueprint in the first place.

Dying Light 2's Korek Charm Makes It Easier (But Is Hard To Find)

To obtain the Korek Charm blueprint in Dying Light 2, players must either ascend Central Loop’s tallest building, the VNC Tower, then glide to a nearby rooftop. Players then need to connect the cables for multiple electrical terminals, an arduous task, with many players commenting that they fell to death multiple times in the process. Once the generators are powered, doors to the developer room will open. Players need to sit on the couch cushions in the developer room in a certain order to complete the final puzzle. Then, the Korek Charm blueprint will appear.

While it's true the Korek Charm weapon repair mod in Dying Light 2 could make the game too easy for some players, weapon durability is only one aspect of surviving in Dying Light 2's post-apocalyptic world. Due to the charm's optional nature, players finding the game too easy with infinite weapon durability can opt to use a different weapon mod, or forego mods altogether to make the game more challenging. Dying Light 2's open-world nature offers versatility, allowing players to adopt a play style that best suits them. While some players may find the Korek Charm too overpowered, for others, it might allow for a more accessible and enjoyable gaming experience, especially for players new to Dying Light 2.
