It may not be obvious how at first, but players can play co-op Dying Light 2 multiplayer through an Online Lobby Menu and invite or Join other players’ games. In order to unlock co-op in Dying Light 2, players must first complete the introductory tutorial chapter of the campaign. This tutorial stretches across 3 different parts that can be completed in a very short time. After entering the city and obtaining the necessary Biomarker, players will have access to the Bazaar, which will unlock Dying Light 2's multiplayer.

Players can skip story cutscenes during the main campaign to speed up gameplay times. Also, when a dialogue choice appears, players can speed through the Dying Light 2 Vote Feature by picking the yellow text options for every choice, which will advance the dialogue. Picking any gray text will start side dialogues that are not needed to advance the main campaign, so if players are looking to jump into Dying Light 2's co-op as fast as possible it's best to just ignore these.

How Dying Light 2 Multiplayer Works

Once you can co-op in Dying Light 2, Multiplayer is split into two sections, Friends and Random Join. In order to join friends, players must have their friends added to the list, either through the game or platform they are playing on. Afterward, players can find their friends on the “Friends” tab of the Online Menu. Players can join directly into a friend’s game or invite them to their own Dying Light 2 co-op session.

Players also have the option to favorite friends and other players using the “Add to Favorites Button” in the side menu when hovering over a person’s username. In order to start playing with other people, Dying Light 2 co-op players will have to choose from one of three different options: Quick Join into a Dying Light 2 Co-op Game, Find Games, or respond to a “Call For Help: Search And Rescue.”

When players respond to a “Call For Help: Search And Rescue” they will be prompted during normal gameplay if another player needs help in their game. A notification on the upper-right side of their screen with the player’s name will appear, along with a button prompt. After pressing the button prompt, the first player will join the second to help them out in missions. Check out Dying Light 2's co-op multiplayer in action in the video from PartiallyRoyal below:
