Tyra Banks, the host of Dancing With The Stars seasons 29 and 30, has now become an executive producer for a new teenage drag series on Discovery+. The model may be putting all her focus on the new show as it was recently reported she might not be returning to the dance competition show. Tyra's appearance on DWTS, which is moving to Disney+ starting with season 31, was not well received by fans. Viewers had a lot of criticism for the former Victoria's Secret angel as they felt she was disrespectful to contestants and often talked over them, especially during eliminations.

In the past few years, the star has also been called out for resurfaced clips from her show America's Next Top Model. Former fans called out the host for bullying contestants for their weight and appearance and also for a controversial shoot she did where each model had to dress up as a person of a different race and ethnicity. Tyra has since apologized, but fans haven't exactly forgiven her. They're hoping the reports of Tyra leaving DWTS are true as they also miss former long-time host Tom Bergeron. Tom was let go in 2019 after disputes with a producer, but since that specific producer has left the show, fans are hoping he'll make a return. It's unlikely to happen though, after Tom posted a cryptic tweet recently indicating that he has moved on from the show.

It has now been revealed that Tyra has other career opportunities lined up as she is executive producing a drag show on Discovery+. According to Deadline, Tyra is producing Generation Drag, a show that follows five teens and their families as they prepare to perform at Dragutante. The event was created for LGBTQ+ teens as a way for them to express themselves. The five stars are Jameson, Noah, Vinny, Bailey and Nabela, and they will be heading to Denver, Colorado, for the event.  The new show also shares a producer with the British reality series, Made in Chelsea.

Tyra will be sharing her producer role with Jasmine Stodel, Clinton Irey, Hayley Lozitsky, David St. John, Rob Schwarze and Ollie Brack. Tyra had many positive things to say about the upcoming series, which premieres on June 1, calling the stars inspiring and saying she's honored to share their stories. "I have such admiration and respect for these teens. They are bravely navigating coming into their own in a world that can be very challenging and not always accepting. What is so beautiful is seeing their parents and siblings supporting them," Tyra shared. She went on to praise the Generation Drag stars for their tenacity and "fierceness."

Generation Drag seems like it's going to be an incredible and inspirational series that anyone would want to get behind. If the rumors of Tyra leaving DWTS are true, then at least she has a great gig set up. While the Dancing With The Stars host has faced a lot of criticism in the past, hopefully she has learned from it and can create a healthy, supportive environment for her new show. With the way she spoke about the new show, Tyra seems stoked about this new chapter.
