Selma Blair loved dancing blindfolded during the most recent Dancing With The Stars episode. Selma and her partner, Sasha Farber, performed a Rumba to "For Your Eyes Only" by Sheena Easton during DWTS' James Bond Night. The couple earned a 28 out of 40 for their dance, on par with their first two dances in the competition. Selma is DWTS season 31's most inspiring contestant, as she has been battling multiple sclerosis since 2018. Selma and Sasha have been one of the favorites since the DWTS season 31 premiere, inspiring the ballroom with a Viennese Waltz that left everyone in tears. In the previous round, she performed a Jive to "Jailhouse Rock" during DWTS' Elvis tribute.

In an interview with People, Selma described dancing blindfolded on DWTS as "amazing" and explained how it helped her with the routine. She said, "The blindfold is an ingenious way to add a little bit of style but also a challenge that was kind of comforting to me and brought me closer to my partner." She called the experience of learning to dance blindfolded a "wonderful, forced, spiritual, emotional boot camp." Selma felt that dancing blindfolded helped "strengthen" her and gave her a new way to approach the rigorous DWTS competition.

Selma & Sasha's Rumba on DWTS

Sasha explained his reasoning for introducing the blindfold to Selma while rehearsing their Rumba. He said that Selma closed her eyes "when she would feel a disconnection from her brain into her body," so he thought blindfolding might help Selma's "sensory overload." Sasha said, "I remember putting it on her, and she had goosebumps," explaining her positive reaction to learning how to dance blindfolded. Sasha is a veteran DWTS pro, but he is continuing to push boundaries with Selma, and they are inspiring the audience every week.

The 14 remaining celebrities in DWTS season 31 paid tribute to all the James Bond films in the most recent episode, dancing to the theme songs from the different movies. The three highest scoring couples remained the same from Elvis Night, with Charli D'Amelio and Mark Ballas, Wayne Brady and Witney Carson, and Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy each earning a 33 out of 40. Despite being at the bottom of the leaderboard for the second time, Vinny Guadagnino and Koko Iwasaki were saved by viewers' votes. Cheryl Ladd and Louis Van Amstel were eliminated from DWTS season 31 after landing in the bottom two for the second week in a row.

Selma and Sasha have defied the odds on DWTS with spectacular dances. Despite her touching story, Selma is earning high scores based on her dancing and is definitely a top contender for DWTS season 31. DWTS fans have seen celebrities perform blindfolded before, with deaf model Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd dancing the Argentine Tango blindfolded for a few seconds, but Selma and Sasha's Rumba is the first dance to be performed entirely without sight. Selma and Sasha continue to excel on DWTS, and it will be exciting to see what they have planned next.
