Kaitlyn Bristowe from Dancing With The Stars found Judge Carrie Ann Inaba's comments on her Villains Night performance “soul-crushing.” The former Bachelorette has a background in dance. Bristowe took the stage with her partner Artem and the expectations were high. Bristowe was determined to prove herself after receiving tough critiques from Judge Inaba the previous week

The Villains Night episode of Dancing With The Stars season 29 opened with footage of the judges and host running and screaming for help. The stars wore costumes to represent villains during the Halloween special. Bristowe wore black and red; she was dressed as the evil Cruella de Vil. Her partner Artem Chigvintsev wore a black and white, Dalmatian-inspired outfit. Before her performance, the former Bachelorette expressed that she “could not be more opposite” than Cruella de Vil because she loves dogs. Bristowe shared how she rescued her two dogs, Ramen and Pinot, from a shelter in South Korea with her boyfriend, Jason Tartick.

Bristowe spoke to People about Judge Inaba’s “soul-crushing” comments. The former Bachelorette and her partner Artem were the last couple to go onstage during Dancing With The Stars week 7. The duo performed the Paso Doble to Rihanna’s track, “Disturbia.” At the start of the dance, Bristowe could be seen alone on the DWTS stage, before marching down several steps to meet Artem. Bristowe maintained animated facial expressions as she made contact with the camera throughout the performance. Judges Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli complimented her on her reliability and intention. While Judge Inaba remarked that Bristowe’s performance was “another not great dance of yours.” Judge Inaba stated, “You had moments of chaos there and I saw it in your eyes.”

Dancing with the Stars Judge Carrie Ann Inaba on set

Unfortunately for Bristowe, the criticism didn't stop there. Kaitlyn seemed to have given up at moments during her DWTS dance, according to Judge Inaba. Bristowe had a few lifts during her performance that were not strong enough for Judge Inaba, who commented, “you are not resisting enough.”

Judge Inaba countered with a compliment on Bristowe’s flexibility. The judge stated, “I don’t want to discourage you,” before scoring Bristowe a 7. Kaitlyn Bristowe and her partner Artem were announced as the last couple to make it to next week’s episode of Dancing With The Stars. In spite of the “soul-crushing” comments, Judge Inaba assured the female Dancing with the Stars contestant that she is a fantastic dancer. Bristowe's Bachelorette fans are pulling for her, and hoping that she'll get nothing but praise on the show in the future.
