Last week's episode featured Johnny Weir and partner Britt Stewart on the chopping block against former NFL star Vernon Davis and his dancing partner Peta Murgatroyd. The judges were not so keen on Weir's salsa. Judge Bruno Tonioli said that his style of salsa was "not quite right," while Carrie Ann Inaba echoed that note, saying this was not Weir's best dance. At the end of the episode, much to Weir and Stewart's relief, they were saved from elimination. Close call!

They earned 29 out of 30 for their dance to Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart." This Monday, it seemed like Salsa was out of their reach. The judges agreed and scored them a 22 out of 30. The couple danced to "On the Floor" by Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull.
Although the score was one of the lowest of the night, the duo was definitely shocked when they went from the highest score to bottom two, in just one week! The judges and the audience chose to save the couple, but Weir and Stewart needed to be on their A-game for future dances. Disaster averted—for the time being. The competition is so unpredictable, and after a scare like that, Weir and Stewart gave their all in their next performances. Weir addressed this message to his fans and the viewers, saying, "We're coming for you 'Dancing with the Stars' in one week's time, but everyone, thank you so much for your votes. We hope you enjoyed the dance. We love you." He then blew a kiss to the camera.
Unfortunately, Johnny Weir and Britt Stewart left the competition during a double elimination in the semi-finals episode of DWTS. However, their achievements during the season were impressive. Johnny's athleticism may not have been enough to sustain him when he and his partner were facing the judges, but it certainly helped him get to the final four. Dancing, just like figure skating, is about form, posture, and beat.
