Since the start of this season of Dancing With the Stars, fans have not been impressed with Tyra's hosting skills. When the show announced that longtime host Tom Bergeron along (with co-host Erin Andrews) would not return to the ballroom for DWTS season 29, many fans were shocked. The two were replaced by Tyra Banks. A lot of the show's fans don't like her as a host and some have been taking to social media to bash her. The biggest hiccup so far happened when Tyra Banks announced the wrong final two couple during the elimination process. Fans have also sent Tyra hate for her over-the-top outfits, her awkwardness, and her overall hosting style. On social media, fans have been begging DWTS producers to bring Tom and Erin back.
Dancing With the Stars fans have had enough of Tyra Banks. Heavy reported that an online petition has been started in an effort to get Tyra replaced on the show. There were actually a few different petitions started, all with the same theme. The main petition was to get rid of Tyra as the host completely and have someone else replace her next season. Another petition was started to bring back Tom Bergeron to host alongside Tyra, as a happy compromise. The last one was to bring back Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews to replace Tyra. All of these petitions were created at Change.org. As of this writing, the petition to get rid of Tyra completely has 6,764 signatures with a current goal of 7,500 signatures.
The creator of the petition, Morgan Benson, left a comment under the post, sharing that she had been blocked from posting on the official DWTS Facebook Page. Some of those who signed the petition left a comment explaining their rationale for signing. Many agreed that Tyra needs to be removed because of her lack of hosting ability. They expressed how frustrating it is that Tyra Banks acts like the show is all about her. One explained, "She is not Dancing With The Stars Material." A lot of people do not appreciate the way Tyra interacts on the show, claiming she asks "the same questions over and over." One fan who has watched the show since the first season admitted that they had to stop watching due to Tyra's hosting. She went on to share that when she does watch, she will either fast forward or mute Tyra's parts.
It seems like fans have it all covered with these petitions, giving the show multiple options that plenty of fans would be impressed with. Is it really worth it for the show to keep Tyra if it results in losing so many longtime viewers?
