Dancing With The Stars season 31 contestant and Charlie's Angels star Cheryl Ladd and her partner, Louis van Amstel, may have been at the bottom of the leaderboard for the past three weeks, but they were still surprised that they were eliminated on Bond Night. They were safe the first week but found themselves in the bottom two with The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and Pasha Pashkov on Elvis Night in week 2. They were saved when Len Goodman cast a tiebreaker vote to save them. However, their luck ran out on Bond Night after they scored 24 points for their rumba to "Diamonds Are Forever." Although they were second to last on the leaderboard, one step above Jersey Shore's Vinny Guadagnino and Koko Iwasaki, they found themselves in the bottom two with Good Morning America contributor Sam Champion and his partner, Cheryl Burke. This time, the judges unanimously decided to send Cheryl and Louis home.

In an interview with TV Insider, Cheryl admitted that she and Louis "were a little surprised" by their DWTS elimination on Bond Night. Louis said, "It’s a reality show, but our emotions are also real. I didn’t expect this." Cheryl added, "Not tonight." Louis said that he was "disappointed" because Cheryl's "nerves were gone." She had overcome her negative emotions about being in the bottom two the week before and had improved.

Cheryl Ladd & Louis van Amstel Had Plans For Their DWTS Future

Cheryl Ladd & Louis van Amstel on Dancing With The Stars Season 31

Louis was convinced that he and Cheryl would advance to DWTS' Disney+ round and had plans for their next dance. They would have danced a foxtrot to "When You Wish Upon A Star" from Pinocchio. Trying to keep a positive attitude, Cheryl said, "We’ll watch somebody else do it." Cheryl and Louis are also looking forward to finale night, during which couples often return to DWTS for a final dance. When asked if she would participate, Cheryl replied, "Of course," with a smile.

While many of the DWTS season 31 stars are breaking ground--including Selma Blair, who's battling multiple sclerosis; Daniel Durant, who is deaf; and Shangela, who is the first drag performer to compete on DWTS--Cheryl has not gotten much attention for being the oldest cast member at 71 years of age. She is a decade older than the next youngest contestant, 61-year-old Sam. Cheryl seemed to have taken a sip from the Fountain of Youth as she competed respectably against contestants who were significantly younger than her.

Although it would have been a pleasure to watch Cheryl and Louis' elegant moves for another week, Cheryl should be proud of what she achieved on DWTS. She brought beauty and grace to the ballroom. Cheryl glided across the floor like a true Angel on Dancing With The Stars.

Dancing With the Stars streams Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on Disney+.
