What happened to Dwight and Angela after The Office ended? The characters were played by Rainn Wilson and Angela Kinsey for all nine seasons of the comedy series. Many fans have wondered about the fate of the couple since the NBC sitcom concluded in 2013, and here's what we know. Dwight and Angela had an on-again-off-again relationship since The Office season 2. Dwight was Michael Scott's right-hand man at Dunder Mifflin. Over time, he was given the position of Assistant (to the) Regional Manager at the Scranton Branch. Angela, meanwhile, was the judgmental and stern accountant but she had a soft spot for Dwight.

Their romance started as a secret but the rest of the office eventually found out. Even when Angela was engaged to Andy, she carried on her relationship with Dwight. She later married a gay senator and had a son, but in the end, she found her way back to Dwight. In The Office season 9, Dwight and Angela almost started to rekindle their romance but life got in the way. Dwight started to date another woman when Angela realized how much she loved her former flame. She finally revealed that Dwight was the father of her son, causing him to officially propose. Their wedding took place at the end of the series in traditional Schrute family flair.

Not only did Dwight finally win back Angela and have the son he always wanted, but he was also offered the permanent position of Regional Manager. After taking the job, the office went through an overhaul. Toby and Kevin were fired, Stanley retired, and a number of others left. Prior to the wedding, Dwight made amends with some of his co-workers by patching up hard feelings. The power probably got to his head at the beginning but he would've grown into his new role. Dwight's personal life would've had a positive effect on his work life, too. When Jim and Pam shared that they were leaving Scranton, Dwight insisted on firing them so they could get severance pay. They were no longer just co-workers in Dwight's eyes, his colleagues were now family.

Dwight looks through blinders

A deleted scene from The Office series finale indicated that her lack of smiling over the years caused her facial muscles to atrophy. Her doctor recommended a multitude of facial exercises to fix the issue. After the wedding, Angela no longer needed the exercise claiming that she was "less of a total bitch now" so there would be more smiling. Dwight referred to Angela as a "former accountant" in the series finale so it was implied that she left the company. Either way, it was presumed that Angela was finally happy after marrying the father of her child. It's also assumed that she brought a horde of cats when she moved in with Dwight at Schrute Farms.

The later lives of Dwight and Angela could have come into focus if NBC went through with the idea of the proposed spinoff, The Farm. An episode of The Office season 9 served as a backdoor pilot for the spinoff. It would have focused on Dwight and his family after they acquire their aunt's land. In the end, NBC decided not to move ahead with the idea. With all of the talk about a reboot of The Office in recent years, maybe viewers haven't seen the last of Dwight and Angela.
