Dwayne Johnson Launches YouTube Channel With Parody Trailer

After a successful career as a wrestler, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has seamlessly transitioned into the world of film and television. Oozing charisma, Johnson has quickly established himself as one of the top talents in the industry, with vehicles like San AndreasCentral Intelligence, and multiple Fast & Furious installments under his belt. His enthusiasm and passion has made him a favorite amongst audiences, and there's always great interest in seeing what The Rock has cooking next.

One area where Johnson thrives is social media; he's currently a one-man promotional campaign for the upcoming Baywatch film reboot, using his various platforms to share images and posters for the movie. Now, he's about to become an even greater force online, thanks to the formation of an all-new YouTube channel: Seven Bucks Digital Studios. A teaser trailer for Ascendence (watch it above) for it debuted at VidCon 2016. The channel will launch on Monday, July 18, 2016.

Teasing that "Once a generation, there comes an event so epic that it dominates our culture and alters our perspective on life as we know it..." there's sure to be a lot of watchful eyes on the channel and the content it will produce. According to a press release, it will showcase videos from Johnson himself and projects from his Seven Bucks Productions (named after the amount of money Johnson had in his pocket before he started wrestling). The channel will also serve as a platform for creators who share Johnson's vision of inspiring, motivating, and entertaining others.

Fast & Furious spinoff with Dwayne Johnson as Hobbs may happen

Seven Bucks Digital Studios is an endeavor with high ambitions, which definitely fits Johnson's strong work ethic. Other goals of the channel include monthly collaborations with top digital native talent and an action-packed scripted online series. It will be a "natural extension" of The Rock's already sizable social media presence, which is currently at a combined 122 million followers. He's one of the most popular actors out there today, and this could be a fun and inventive method for people to get their projects in front of several pairs of eyes.

Johnson is always finding ways to stay busy, and this YouTube channel should provide him with plenty of opportunities to explore his creative side and interact with his fan base. It will be interesting to see what kind of content is spotlighted on Seven Bucks Digital Studios and just how large it grows over time. The Rock has found a lot of success in the past, so odds are he'll be able to transform this into a fruitful enterprise.
