Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson shared some pictures from behind the scenes of his new action/thriller movie Skyscraper, showing him bloody and bruised and getting ready for a stunt. Johnson is one of Hollywood's busiest stars as of late, with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle premiering this December, Jungle Cruise currently in pre-production, and San Andreas 2, Black Adam, and Doc Savage all in some stage of development. The variety of his upcoming films prove what a bankable actor he has become in action, superhero and comedy films.

Skyscraper features Johnson as Will Ford, a war veteran and former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader who currently assesses security for skyscrapers. His job takes him to China, where he finds the world's tallest and safest building on fire - with his family trapped inside. Worst of all, he has been framed for the whole thing and must find a way to rescue his family while on the run.

On his Instagram page, Johnson shared a black and white image of him alongside Skyscraper director Rawson Marshall Thurber. This is the second film the two have made, having previously worked together on Central IntelligenceIn the image's caption, Johnson praises Thurber saying that he is "A very smart, ambitious, extremely focused and methodical guy who wants to deliver a f*cking intensely breathtaking and epic film for the fans."

Bloody and battered w/ my director @rawsonthurber between takes. WEEK 3 complete of our action thriller #SKYSCRAPER. This is my second film with Rawson putting my trust in his hands. A very smart, ambitious, extremely focused and methodical guy who wants to deliver a f*cking intensely breathtaking and epic film for the fans. Our story takes place in China. In the penthouse of the world's tallest skyscraper... on fire. More details to come down the road. Until then, WEEK 3 complete and we'll just keep on keepin' on. #JohnsonThurber #SKYSCRAPER A post shared by therock (@therock) on

There is also a video Johnson posted of him on set getting ready to perform a stunt. Both images shared show Johnson with a bloody shirt. The video also shows his hands wrapped in what appears to be duct tape, with a rope wrapped around his body (the harness for the stunt).  The stunt scene is being shot by director of photography Robert Elswit, who Johnson points out also worked on one of his favorite films, There Will Be Blood.

1am. On set of #SKYSCRAPER. Minutes away from me scaling the world's tallest building in what will be insanely rad stunt and breathtaking scene in our movie. Our Director of Photography, Robert Elswit won an Oscar for one of my favorite movies - THERE WILL BE BLOOD. The man knows how to calm a set before all hell breaks loose.. thus the beautiful jazz music of the iconic Sonny Collins in the background. I may be a little crazy but it keeps me from goin' insane. #CalmBeforeTheChaos #ALittleSonnyCollins #SKYSCRAPER #HongKong A post shared by therock (@therock) on

Johnson is very active on social media, often interacting with fans via Twitter and posting behind the scenes images and videos on Instagram. It's no surprise he was ranked number one on The Hollywood Reporter's list of Top Actors Social Media Ranking (which he of course shared on Instagram). And besides just sharing pictures of himself working out or getting ready for cool stunts,  he never forgets to thank his fans and everyone who has helped him further his career in the captions.

Skyscraper also stars '90s scream queen Neve Campbell and Pablo Schreiber (American Gods, Orange is the New Black) in undisclosed roles. Presumably Campbell will be playing Johnson's wife, but nothing has been confirmed. Having Johnson as a star along with a China setting will go a long way in helping the film in both the domestic and international box office. It looks like it could be a fun summer blockbuster with big action and a plot reminiscent of Die Hard.
