Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is hinting at a future collaboration with IT director Andy Muschetti. It seems like just about everybody is looking forward to checking out IT this weekend, the latest in a long line of film adaptations of Stephen King's work. IT is of course the second adaptation of that particular King novel, after the famous 1990 miniseries starring Tim Curry as Pennywise the Dancing Clown. IT is currently projected to haul in somewhere between $65 and $75 million over the course of its opening weekend, a September record.
While Johnson was lucky enough to get to see the film a couple months back, he shares the public's general enthusiasm for IT, having now posted a rave review on Instagram. While IT has already been drawing great reviews in general - and has now officially been certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes - to know that The Rock loves it is just a cherry on top for those heading out to see it over the next few days.

That said, many were quick to notice a curious thing about Johnson's IT review post. Near the end, the actor praises director Muschetti, and offhand mentions that they're "gonna have some fun working together down the road. " There are no currently announced projects involving both Muschetti and Johnson in the pipeline, so folks are now naturally wondering just what exactly the latter is referring to. Considering that IT is a Warner Bros. film, and Johnson is already signed on to play Black Adam in a solo movie for DC, many are speculating that the collaboration in question between Johnson and Muschetti will in fact be that DCEU entry. Muschetti came close to working with DC and WB before, as he was previously reported to be in the running to direct the upcoming Justice League Dark film - a position that, for various reasons, still hasn't been filled following Doug Liman's exit back in May.
Then again, just because Black Adam is the most obvious guess, doesn't mean it's the right one. Muschetti is also attached to direct a Robotech movie for Sony, and it's not impossible to imagine that Johnson might be circling a role in that project. For now, all anyone outside the Hollywood inner circle can do is wait and wonder until if and when The Rock decides to reveal more information.
