Actor Dwayne Johnson was shocked by the discovery of his doppelgänger, after photos went viral of a man who looks exactly like him. Johnson first entered the spotlight as "The Rock," his pro wrestling alter ego. Boasting a slightly cocky but charming persona, The Rock took the World Wrestling Federation by storm in the mid-90s, quickly becoming one of the greatest wrestling characters of all time.

Johnson carried his success from inside the ring to Hollywood. After some memorable stints on television series like That '70s Show and Star Trek: Voyager, he set his sights on the big screen. Moviegoers first saw The Rock as the Scorpion King in The Mummy Returns (2001), which earned him the aptly titled spin-off The Scorpion King a year later. Over the decades, Johnson has become a household name, racking up credit after credit. Most recently, he starred in the Jumanji reboot franchise, as well as Disney's Jungle Cruise alongside Emily Blunt.

While there's no one quite like The Rock in Tinseltown, apparently the star has a major doppelgänger out there. Johnson took to social media this week to address a viral photo (originally posted by Bleacher Report) showing a police officer who looks exactly like him. From their titled head and smile, to the same aviator sunglasses, the pair are almost identical. Even Johnson himself couldn't deny the resemblance. See his tweet below:

Although the trending side-by-side graphic has fans doing triple-takes, the subjects are indeed separate people. The picture on the left captures Morgan County Patrol Lieutenant Eric Fields at work in Alabama, although it could easily be The Rock in character as a police officer. Johnson's response shows he was clearly just as mystified as the countless fans who swarmed the comments section. Of course, ever the entrepreneur, the star seized the moment as a way to not-so-subtly advertise his line of small batch tequila: Teremana Tequila. He also admirably wished the Lieutenant well, and thanked him for his service.

Lieutenant Fields can now also walk through life knowing that he's "way cooler" than The Rock. One can only hope that Johnson makes good on his invite and shares a drink with Fields down the line, so the pair could truly take a back to back comparison shot and swap some wild Rock stories. In the meantime, this shocking image will surely be causing confusion all over the internet for days to come.
