Dawyne "The Rock" Johnson is all set for another blockbuster-fueled year, with the action/comedy Baywatch due out later this month and the jungle action/adventure Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle arriving later on in December - though fans are also betting that the American actor will win the United States presidential election in 2020. Those who adore the star of this past April's The Fate of the Furious no doubt hold the Hollywood heavyweight in high regard, and as such his is a star that isn't expected to diminish in the public eye anytime soon.

Considering his popularity as an American icon, Johnson turned quite a few heads of late when he announced that he would consider running for President of the United States in 2020. It's no secret that the former WWE wrestler is a major celebrity - and given the current state of things in the White House, the idea of a Hollywood actor taking the highest position of political office with no firsthand experience has become less of an impossibility. This fact is further attested to by reported enthusiasm for The Rock's stated intention to run for public office.

According to Oddschecker, Johnson's betting odds for winning the 2020 United States Presidential Election against the sitting Leader of the Free World - namely, former reality TV star and Wall Street business mogul Donald J. Trump - has moved from a modest ranking of 100/1 to 50/1. With 22% of all bets accounted for from last week, the chances of Johnson winning the 2020 election are looking increasingly more realistic.

Baywatch - Kelly Rohrbach, Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron

Provided the current precedent set by the Republican party, another Hollywood icon could very well drum up enough support on the campaign trail to actually make a legitimate run as the 46th President of the United States as either a Democratic or third-party candidate. And with the latest betting odds on hand, chances are the American public might be willing to give the Fast & Furious leading man a shot at being the face of the nation.

Politics aside, it's obviously still a bit of a stretch to imagine another outsider force his way into the highest seat of public authority after the events of the 2016 elections, but then again no major news or media outlet predicted the outcome of this past November's historic election, either. Johnson is definitely one of the most bankable Hollywood stars currently working, and one whose celebrity could push him over the edge into serious consideration in the 2020 United States presidential election - provided he can beat out his professional colleague and presumed-opponent Ron Perlman.
