Zendaya recently gave a shoutout to the Sims franchise, in an interview alongside Dune co-star Timothée Chalamet, and the life simulator series has issued a response via Twitter. The American actress and model has risen to prominence in recent years with roles in huge blockbusters like Spider-Man: Far From Home and Dune. Zendaya's Dune co-star Timothée Chalamet recently had his own video game background revealed, as fans discovered the actor's old YouTube channel dedicated to modding Xbox controllers.

The newly-released sci-fi epic Dune, directed by Denis Villeneuve, stars former Xbox modder Timothée Chalamet as protagonist Paul Atreides. The heir to an intergalactic throne, Paul journeys with the rest of his kingdom to the valuable yet deadly desert planet of Arrakis. The wasteland, plagued by unbearable heat and massive sandworm monsters, is also home to Zendaya's character Chani. The fates of the two characters are intertwined, with each serving an essential role in the Dune storyline. The duo's importance, and their actors' massive fame, has led to Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya entering Fortnite as playable skins in Epic Games' beloved battle royale title.

Zendaya recently gave a shoutout to The Sims in an interview with YouTuber and professional gamer Nate Hill, and the long-running series has now responded via Twitter. In the YouTube interview, Hill speaks to both Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet about their recently-released sci-fi epic. The topic of video games is brought up, with Zendaya explaining that she did not play video games as a child but began to as she got older. At one point she specifically references The Sims, suggesting that the simulation series is among the games she has played. Meanwhile, Chalamet is a big gamer dating back to classic titles like Luigi's Mansion and Super Smash Bros. The actor also confirms that the Xbox controller modding channel ModdedController360 did, in fact, belong to him.

The Sims is a long-running and widely beloved part of the video game industry, with its first installment releasing back in 2000. The life simulation franchise lets players create their own characters, or "Sims," and then manage their lives on a day-to-day basis. While the newest installment in the franchise launched back in 2014, The Sims 4 continues to receive new content from developer Maxis. A new Sims 4 update in September 2021 added various new items and furniture options, further expanding the series' already huge plethora of customization options.

Nate Hill's interview with Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet gives viewers a lovely look into the personalities and interests of both young stars. Zendaya's limited gaming experience is slowly being expanded, and The Sims is apparently among the list of games she has played. With both actors sharing a passion for gaming, perhaps a potential Dune video game could recruit both of their impressive acting talents. When she's not living a harsh life on Arrakis, Zendaya is apparently creating model lives within The Sims.
