The full score for Dune, composed by Hans Zimmer, is now available to stream. The science fiction epic is based on the Frank Herbert novel of the same name and is the latest movie from Denis Villeneuve, the director behind Prisoners, Sicario, Arrival, and Blade Runner 2049. The movie explores the desert planet Arakkis through the eyes of Paul Atreides, who will be played by Timothée Chalamet. Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgård, and Zendaya also star.
Per IndieWire, fans can now listen to the full soundtrack of Dune scored by Hans Zimmer. The 22-track soundtrack is available for purchase and to stream. Zimmer is the Oscar-winning film composer for The Lion King, and is known for his unforgettable soundtracks of innumerable films such as The Thin Red Line, Gladiator, 12 Years A Slave, and three of the Pirates of the Carribean films. He has frequently collaborated with Christopher Nolan on his films, scoring Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, and The Dark Knight trilogy. Along with Dune's original score, Zimmer has also composed separate and extended music known as the Dune Sketchbook that explored more of the story and scope. Both can now be streamed through all music platforms.
Zimmer is one of the most celebrated and influential film composers of all time and best known for scoring classic epics, so it is only right that he would compose the music for one of the most anticipated epics of 2021. Zimmer has also previously worked with Villeneuve on Blade Runner 2049, which has proven to be one of the highlights of the film. With the news that Dune will be the first of a two-part adaptation, it also may be very likely that Zimmer will return to score the second movie. Until then, fans can enjoy the impressive beauty and recognizable sound of Zimmer's work in Dune before the movie hits theaters and HBO Max on October 22.
