The upcoming Dune film is getting new merch as Dark Horse Comics have revealed a new set of products featuring the characters and symbols of the upcoming blockbuster. In cooperation with Legendary Entertainment and Herbret Properties LLC, the new wave of merch features looks at the characters in a set of magnetic bookmarks, magnets, and pins.

The new products are based on the upcoming Dune film which adapts the classic science fiction series of the same name by Frank Herbert. Widely considered one of the greatest sci-fi books of all time, Dune has only seen one previous film adaptation by David Lynch - which despite being considered a cult classic to some, didn't faithfully follow source material particularly close. Now, with the new film directed by Dennis Villeneuve, fans are expecting a more accurate take on the book series. Early trailers have captured the grand scale of the universe created by Herbert, which follows Paul Atreides, who travels to a mysterious planet where there's conflict over the valuable resource, Spice.

Dark Horse's offerings for Merch for the upcoming Dune film include a set of magnetic bookmarks which feature different characters from the series. The magnets include Timothee Chalamet's Paul Atreides, Rebecca Ferguson's Lady Jessica, Stellan Skarsgard's Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, Jason Mamoa's Duncan Idaho, as well as Zendaya's Chani. Symbols for the Atreides and the Harkonnen also are featured.

The new merch also includes a group of magnets featuring the main characters, as well as a pin that's the symbol of House Atreides.

There is understandably an incredible amount of hype surrounding the new Dune adaptation. The sci-fi adaptation has star power galore, while also being helmed by Villeneuve, whose previous films, Arrival and Blade Runner: 2049, showed that he's truly one of the most talented directors currently working. The only question that remains is whether Dune will be available on HBO Max or in theaters. Given the grand scale of the franchise, both Villeueve and Legendary Pictures have pushed back at the initial announcement that Dune would first appear on HBO Max. There hasn't been a resolution on where Dune will end up once it's release in October.

Regardless of where Dune ultimately ends up being available to watch first, it's exciting to see the film soon coming out. For those clamoring to get the new Dune merch, it's available to pre-order at comic shops now and will be released on August 25, 2021. Dennis Villeueve's Dune film will be released on October 1st, 2021.
