Jason Momoa and his Dune co-stars celebrate the film's Oscar wins in images from the 94th Academy Awards. Director Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of Dune was released in theaters and on HBO Max in October 2021, earning widespread critical acclaim. The film was considered by many to be one of the best of the year, earning 10 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. Many were surprised when Villeneuve was snubbed from the Best Director category, believing he was worthy of the accolade.

Dune was one of the big winners at the ceremony, taking home six awards. Dune dominated the technical categories, receiving Best Sound, Best Visual Effects, Best Production Design, Best Original Score, Best Film Editing, and Best Cinematography. Despite coming up short in the Best Picture race, Dune actually won the most Oscars of any movie during the night. For Momoa and his fellow-co-starts, that was cause for excitement, and they reunited at the ceremony to celebrate Dune's incredible achievements.

On Instagram, Momoa shared nine photos of various moments throughout the Oscars ceremony. The first photo is Momoa with Chalamet, Dune director Denis Villenueve, and Dune co-stars Zendaya and Javier Bardem, all posing with excitement for the camera. Other photos featured Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell's acceptance speeches for Best Original Song and The Godfather tribute featuring Francis Ford Coppola, Robert De Niro, and Al Pacino. It all culminated with the final photo of Momoa giving a kiss to Josh Brolin, his Dune co-star and co-presenter for the night. More moments can be seen below:

While there was much to discuss about the Oscars this year, the story of 2021's Dune has become something of an achievement on its own. The adaptation of the iconic Frank Herbert novel had been in development for years and was overshadowed by the infamous David Lynch-directed version from the '80s. But Villenueve, Momoa, and company managed to make the film stand on its own and receive plenty of acclaim and awards in the industry, even though the story has yet to continue.

Momoa's Duncan Idaho was one of the most memorable aspects of Dune. Momoa himself is also one of the world's biggest stars. His involvement in Dune 2 is a possibility, but at least Momoa was still able to leave his mark on the series. His photos at the Academy Awards are not just for people on social media to gawk at, but rather they demonstrate Momoa's passion for Dune and love for Villenueve and his fellow cast members.
