The month of May is set to be a busy one for fans of Disney Channel’s all-new DuckTale series, as not only will it launch new episodes, it will also welcome guest stars like Michael Chiklis (The Shield, Gotham) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) to lend their voices as Zeus and Gizmoduck, respectively. Chiklis's voice will be the first to be heard, when the series premieres the new episode ‘The Spear of Selene!’ on Friday, May 4.

Disney’s relaunched DuckTales already boasts a voice cast of familiar actors, including David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck, and Danny Pudi (Community), Ben Schwartz (Parks and Rec), Bobby Moynihan (SNL), and Kate Miccuci (Garfunkel and Oates) as Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby. The relaunch also included a new animation style that gives the series a distinct look. And of course, though slightly updated with new vocals from Felicia Barton, the famous theme song remains otherwise untouched.

The new clip features Chiklis as the Greek (Duck) god, descending from an ominous-looking cloud with a warning for Scrooge and Donald, only to be inundated with questions regarding his immortality and control of the weather from two of the boys. It’s definitely in keeping with the show’s brand of humor, as the supposed awe of being in the presence of Zeus himself is superseded by Huey’s need to test the deity’s ability to feel pain by stepping on his foot. Zeus, however, is more concerned by the interloper Scrooge, who was apparently made unwelcome in Olympus (presumably) some time ago.

Mortal riff-raff aside, Scrooge and Donald seem less impressed by Zeus’s arrival (and tantrum) than the boys, but maybe that’s what happens when you’ve been accused of sullying the home of the gods with your mortal anthropomorphic presence. But as an official synopsis notes, the DuckTales gang isn’t there just to see a deity throw a fit, they have much more personal intentions.

“Donald is dragged into a feud between Scrooge and Zeus, while Dewey and Webby search for an artifact that may provide the truth about Dewey's mother.”

‘The Spear of Selene!’ kicks off the new DuckTales schedule, which saw the series begin to air daily on Disney Channel beginning on May 1. Every Friday in May will also premiere a new episode, with Miranda’s take on Gizmoduck arriving on May 11. With that it looks as though Disney is aiming to fill the summer with plenty of duck tales.
