Guillermo del Toro returns to Comic-Con with his upcoming horror movie Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark, directed by Troy Nixey. The fright flick stars Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce and Bailee Madison and follows the on-screen family as they experience a monstrous haunting in their new home - we've seen it before, but not through the mind of del Toro.
That's only half of the first ever FilmDistrict Studio panel where they are attempting to try something different in combining both films into one panel with all the talent onto one panel, all of whom have seen the other film: Drive.
The Comic-Con-friendly del Toro brings Troy Nixey and star Guy Pearce to Hall H for the film's panel. The movie has gone through a lengthy distribution process and last year's Don't Be Afraid of the Dark Comic-Con panel will undoubtedly feel like a completely different movie from the new footage we see today.
So far we've seen a creepy trailer for the scary movie, but hopefully del Toro tears the house down with even more frightful sights. Join Screen Rant as we live-blog the Don't Be Afraid of The Dark panel, which takes up one half of the FilmDistrict presentation, the same studio that brought us Insidious earlier this year.
As for Nicolas Winding Refn's (already) award-winning Drive, Ron Perlman and Carey Mulligan join the director on stage, along with the Don't Be Afraid of the Dark crew. The movie garnered major buzz after Refn earned Best Director at this year's Cannes Film Festival and the film itself was nominated for the festival's prestigious Palme d'Or. The movie follows a Hollywood stunt driver (Ryan Gosling) whose night job as a wheelman puts him in some hairy situations.

Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark hits theaters on August 26th, 2011 and Drive is set for a September 16th, 2011 release.
