While the Supergirl television series on The CW might have ended, Dreamer's adventures will continue in a brand new original graphic novel from actress Nicole Maines and artist Rye Hickman. DC Comics teased the new Dreamer-starring OGN story with an image featuring the hero alongside Galaxy, a fellow trans hero that recently made their debut in the YA story, Galaxy: The Prettiest Star.

Dreamer, played by actress and activist Nicole Maines, was a fan-favorite character on The CW's Supergirl series, as the trans hero immediately captured the attention and affection of viewers. Nia Nal quickly proved to be a worthy hero alongside Supergirl, as her amazing dreamwalking, energy manipulation, and astral projection powers made for the perfect balance alongside the Kryptonian hero. Dreamer recently made her DC Comics debut in DC Pride 2021 while making her first in-continuity appearance in Superman: Son of Kal-El. Maines will write the new foreword in DC Pride 2022, as the actress is also writing a brand new YA original graphic novel starring the hero.

DC Comics shared the exciting news that Nicole Maines and Rye Hickman will be teaming up for a brand-new Dreamer original graphic novel. In the image announcing the OGN, Dreamer can be seen alongside Galaxy from Galaxy: The Prettiest Star by Jadzia Axelrod and Jess Taylor, as the two trans heroes appear to be friends. The DC Pride 2022 image was done in collaboration with Hickman and Taylor. Check out the announcement below, which features Dreamer and Galaxy smiling and relaxing together.

Nicole Maines tweeted she was excited to see the early reviews for DC Pride 2022, as the Dreamer actress contributed the foreword in the issue. The pin-up starring Dreamer and Galaxy can be seen in physical print inside the issue in the image from Taylor and Hickman. Now that readers know Maines and Hickman are working on a new Dreamer original graphic novel, it makes the image that much more special - although it's unclear whether Galaxy will also appear in the story or if it's just a fun image featuring the two popular trans heroes. Regardless, readers should be happy to see the team-up, even if it's just for the awesome Pride art.

Dreamer was an important and special character to many viewers, as seeing a trans superhero in action in Supergirl made the character much more significant than just another costumed CW character. Nicole Maines and Dreamer inspired many, so it's great to see her adventures continue in a new original graphic novel from the actress and Rye Hickman. We'll have more details on the Dreamer-starring OGN when DC Comics makes them available.
