New images from the upcoming horror thriller Dreamcatcher give fans a new look at the movie’s killer. Dreamcatcher is directed by Jacob Johnston, who has worked on several films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a visual development producer. Dreamcatcher will mark Johnston’s directorial debut, with his film releasing on digital and on-demand in March 2021.

Dreamcatcher’s cast is filled with mostly up and coming actors, with the likes of Zachary Gordon (Diary Of A Wimpy Kid), Niki Koss (Famous in Love), and Travis Burns (Neighbours) filling out the cast. The film also stars Lou Ferrigno Jr., son of the famous Incredible Hulk actor. The film center on Burns’ character Dylan, who is an up and coming musician known as DJ Dreamcatcher. After attending a music festival, Dylan and two sisters are trapped in a “48-hour whirlwind of violence and mayhem.” Dreamcatcher doesn’t have a trailer just yet, but fans now have a new look at the movie.

Dreamcatcher may not get as much media attention as other horror movies given its digital release, but it still has the potential to succeed. The movie theater industry is still trying to recover from the Coronavirus pandemic, and with streaming services on the rise, an on-demand release for Dreamcatcher makes sense. Even huge blockbusters like Wonder Woman 1984 are being released on streaming services, so it’s safe to assume that Dreamcatcher would have better luck skipping a theatrical release.

While Dreamcatcher is an indie film, it could still be a hit within the horror community. Many fans love big horror blockbusters, but many also enjoy indie horror films for their fresh take on the genre. Hollywood is currently benefiting from reboots and revivals of classic horror films such as Halloween and The Exorcist, but Dreamcatcher could go over well with fans for its original idea. Johnston's film is said to be a "whodunnit" movie and based on the popularity of the Scream franchise and even films like Rian Johnson's Knives Out, there is a clear interest for movies with that type of plot. In short, Dreamcatcher could turn into a popular horror movie, and fans don't have to wait that much longer to see it.
